I haven’t had any weird cravings. I wish I could have blue cheese, but we definitely are not supposed to because of the mold.
I haven’t had any weird cravings. I wish I could have blue cheese, but we definitely are not supposed to because of the mold.
@Cory_loves_this_girl: I am comfortable withy choices. You do you.
@ms1977: I am sure we are fine. I’m not eating it for every freaking meal or anything. This was supposed to be a fun post, not a preachy post. I should know better.
I just finished a Subway breakfast sandwich with eggs, bacon and veggies — including pickles. It was my husband’s idea but it actually tasted good. Now I feel so stereotypical, haha.
I haven’t had any strange cravings but I do crave a crapload of spicy food. My craving for spicy got so bad I had to order the after death hots sauce from the world market. It has several different kinds of peppers including habanero and is so spicy but super great. I have also been wanting a lot of chips and dips. Hot cheetohs and nacho cheese & lays limon chips and bean dip are my favorites right now.
@Cory_loves_this_girl: my doctor in Cary also said all cheeses made with pasteurized milk are fine. Before I got KU I searched all the cheeses at Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s, Costco and regular grocery stores and the only place I found unpasteurized cheese was Trader Joe’s.
@mamadingdong: Yes, that is exactly what I said. Everyone makes different choices for themselves about what to eat/drink, I was putting the information out there for people who might not know about it. I do some things others might not choose, and thats fine too. Holy overreaction!
@Cory_loves_this_girl: pregnant women never overreact! No worries- I am just having stay- sorry!
My Mum had cravings for cheese, onion and mayo toasted sandwhiches when she was pregnant with me… and I’VE ALWAYS LOVED THEM!!! In fact, it’s really the only type of toasted sandwhich that I’ll eat. Weird.
@SadieBee: OMG I love peanut butter pickle sandwiches! Maybe I have just always liked weird food o.O I don’t know if my mom ate them but I know my dad does. I read that what you eat is transferred through the amniotic fluid and the baby swallows it. Once they grow to like a certain flavor they will for life, just another reason to TRY to eat healthy lol.
It’s not weird to me but I’m sure it will be to you ladies:
Raw Mango with Bagoong (shrimp paste)
Here in the States, I would say a “common” pregnancy food is pickles right? Well, in the Philippines (where I’m from), and probably some other Southeast Asian countries, it’s raw mango..
The raw mango is not too bad, it’s the shrimp paste that’s an acquired taste. To me though, growing up eating it, it’s the perfect blend of sour and salty =P.
I’m 9w2d today and I’ve only had it once but replying to this thread is making me crave it again haha
I also craved Chicken Nuggets and Baked Beans a couple of weeks ago.. I guess that’s more normal.
@mamadingdong: I am also eating lots of things I am not “supposed to eat” for those following all the rules in the stricktest sense.
@SadieBee: My mom said the same thing about her kids and the foods she ate while I pregnant!
I havent had any super strong or weird cravings. At this point most food just doesnt sound too great, so I am eating the things that sound OK. Of course mostly not so healthy foods sound the best so I have to force healthier foods in me at this point. I am only 13 1/2 weeks.
@mysticgrace: oooh! I have been eating a ton of mango! and grapes and watermelon.
@mamadingdong: I’m with you too, plus it’s pretty dang hard to get unpasteurized cheese in the US. I have been craving fish which is a bit of a pain since you’re not supposed to have a whole lot of it. I’ve had tuna sandwhiches like 5 times since being pregnant and before that I probably hadn’t had it in a year haha.
Basically whatever anyone mentions. Oatmeal creme pie with peanut butter. Yummyyy.
