Hi Bees, I’m posting this as a favor for my SO 🙂
My SO liked the 3-4 mm width when we went to try rings on, and I thought it looked good on him since he has pretty thin fingers.
Now he’s second guessing his decision though, since he’s concerned that the thinner bands he’s seen online tend to be in the “ladies” category.
Just wondering if there are other guys out there who are going with the thinner bands and what the “usual” width really is!

My husbands ring is a size 8, 6mm.

My future hubs has a size 7.75 finger and has chosen a 6mm band.

DH’s ring is about 4mm, or less. It was his grandfather’s who has smaller hands so it was resized to fit. Adding gold was discussed but he wanted to try it as is first. He originally wanted something around 6-7mm. He was estatic to get his grandfather’s ring (still alive and married 60 years, he just couldn’t wear it because of arthritis). Darling Husband says we ended up with the perfect size without trying. It doesn’t bother him or get in the way at work. He said he’s had moments where he didn’t feel it and freaked out a little and had to look/feel to make sure it was still there.
ETA: DH’s ring is size 11. Also he’s not a jewelry or flashy guy, so even though he originally thought it should be wider due to his finger size, he ended up loving the fit of the thinner band.

My Fiance is a size 11 ring size and he has a 8mm ring
From what I’ve seen a lot of older men have thinner rings, I think this big ring thing is just a fashion at the moment which will probably turn like all fashions do

Thanks for your replies… shoulda added that my SO’s ring size is around a 7-7.5.
@leecy87: Yeah the thicker rings definitely seem to be in fashion at the moment… when we went into the jewelry store we saw a display with what I thought was three separate rings stuck on the same holder…. turns out it was one giant ring! We passed on that one!

I just ordered him a 8mm tungsten ring and he’s a size 10. I think I’d like the 6 or 7mm better…we’ll see when it gets here.

My husband’s is 8mm tungsten and he is a size 9.5 and he HATES IT 🙁 He doesn’t even wear it because he says it’s so uncomfortable. I just ordered him a 5mm thinner/comfort fit band today on ebay, I hope he likes it better!!
His new band that I ordered today:

My DHs is 8mm. I like wide bands on his hands, but if the thin one looks good, go with that.
