I feel like shit my entire luteal phase, so definitely that. And my period lasts 7-9 days, so I really only get MAYBE a week when I am feeling good. Usually however I am battling a yeast infection which comes like clockwork after my period.
Otherwise I’m either bleeding or I’m bloated and covered in acne with headache that goes on endlessly for 10-15 days at a time.

All of the medical issues that flareup with it. I don’t know if that goes as pain, as some of them are painful. It’s also the nausea and the itchiness too.

I wish there was a choice for all of the above. Even on hormonal birth control pills, my periods are terrible! They still last 5 to 8 days, heavy flow, smell awful, and the cramps make me sick for a week before and a few days after as well as during. The only reason I started birth control (since I wasn’t sexually active at the time) was to stop this process from happening twice a month. I was continuously miserable until I started BC so now I have one or two good weeks in a month instead of one or two good days.
I’m thinking about going for an IUD and seeing if that may eliminate it altogether. We still have a couple years before we plan to TTC so it seems like a good option.

ren89: Have you considered using them continuously? That’s what I do, so it’s about 2/year.

I get a lot of fatigue so I end up spending it lying down or sleeping a lot. Cramps don’t bother me anymore thanks to birth control and my husband isn’t too squeamish, so we don’t stop having sex (That’s what showers are for.)

What I hate about my period is that I bleed- but not enough to use a tampon. How annoying and inconvenient it is to wear a pad all the time!

You see…. I’m used to all the above… all the years dealing with this nonsense as you all know….you learn to deal with it. But this is where it gets me.
It doesn’t matter where I go, how far, how many planes it takes, or how big of an event it is…… IT IS ALWAYS PRESENT!!!!!
Guess who’s coming with me to Las Vegas on my bachelorette next month? YOU GUESSED IT!
Even better…….. Guess who will be my guest of honor on my wedding day? YEP! You know it!
She’s been to Spain, to Dubai…. she’s been on a cruise…. and she loves plane rides!!!
Yeah shoot me now

MrsPiggles: Are you on BC pills? Could you skip it for the week of your bachlorette? That’s one of the things I absolutely LOVE about BC pills. Skipping it when I don’t feel like having it, or when there’s a special occasion (when I want to ‘celebrate’ with DH)
Back to the main question: The cramps. They are the worse. I still get them pretty bad while on the pill, but usually some ibuprofen kills the pain pretty quickly. Not like before I was on the pill where it would take a full hour to stop once it started.
The mess is annoying but I use tampons mainly so it’s minimal mess.

MrsCallalily: Well…. I’d love to do that…. I am planning on doing that for the wedding (thank god for BC!), but I won’t get to see my Dr till after the bachelorette party :/ So unfortunately as far as Vegas goes…. aunt flow is coming with us. And I’m flying, which explains why she’d have to be there. Bitch….. haha!

Right now its the fact that I’m not pregnant. But otherwise just dealing with it in general. Though it hasnt been nearly as bad since I started using the diva cup, especially after teh first two days when I can just leave it in all day and empty it twice a day at home.

I hate the production it becomes just to use the restroom. Also the ick factor…I mean bleeding for 5-7 days is just super creepy.

AB Bride: using them continuously? As in skipping the placebo week? I never considered it. Thought it might mess something up. Is that recommended/safe?
