I have both diamonds and Moissanite, so I switch up what rings I wear. I’ve had people ask which is which but Ive never had anyone say anything mean. People don’t usually know what it is so they ask questions or I tell them about it and they all either say “cool” or “wow”

I wouldn’t worry about it! Enjoy your new ring!!

I have never had anyone say anything negative about my moissy. I recently started a new job and the 5 days I have worked, I have gotten more compliments on my ring than the past 8 months I’ve had it lol.

i told my gma my ring was moissanite and she said it was trash because it was not a diamond. but besides that one incedent…i get nothing but compliments and nice things said about my rings.

I had a woman in line at Subway look at my ring and rudely say “congratulations on the debt”. No one knows my ring is a moissanite (and it’s 2cts!). I’d tell them if they asked! But no one thinks to ask. I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it, moissanite just seems really well known to people who are on these boards a lot, most people IRL have never heard of it and can’t tell it’s not a diamond

minniegrace:  I agree but I learn about it on Jewelry TV.  When I google it, so many different wedding blogs came up.  Moissy are a girls best friend, I have a RHR that is a yellow moissy on 14kt white gold band.  I love it

I have never actually told anyone that my ring is a moissy…But everyone that sees it says it’s the prettiest diamond they’ve ever seen haha. I just say thank you and move on. No need to get judgement from people that I don’t care to get judgement from.

MrsAL2012:  i have a love hate relationship with my grandma. we argue and disagree alot. she only believes in diamonds but her diamonds are shit. they dont sparkle and are very poor quality. so that comforts me a little bit. shes old and doesnt have a filter. so i just brushed it off. it sucked cuz we were on our way to a family xmas party with my inlaws.

Nothing bad really.  I have just had someone lose interest in it.  Like one minute it was amazing, and the next it was not, lol.

It’s not mine, but this one classmate I had a while back had the ENTIRE class talking behind her back about her “diamond”.  I’m pretty sure it was moissanite and they were calling it “mountain dew” moissanite, frozen spit.  I think people can be just f*cking harsh.

I have not had my ring that long, and I am self employed (no office gossip) so if people are saying bad stuff about my ring I have not heard it. However, most of my friends are activists in some way or another, so I probablty would have gotten bad comments on a real diamond, unless it was an antique. My close friends know its a moissy and if anyone I care about assumes it’s a diamond, it quickly let them know it is not! Since my ring is 2ct, if it were a diamond and an antique, I would be nervous to wear it, LOL. I also usually dress in a non-mainstream style, so people usually notice my dresses over my ring.
