My sister worked at a wedding where the brides ex got up on stage and sang Celo Green’s “f**k you” (also known as forget you) whilst topless…

@luvmesumhim:  I would be salty too!  First off, you don’t throw a rehearsal dinner, require the bridal party to go and then hit them with a bill!  WTF!?  Second, if for some reason you can’t afford to host the dinner, at the very least, you should let people know they have to pay for themselves and maybe even choose a more affordable restaurant.  And THIRD, splitting the bill evenly just allows people like yourself to get screwed when the bill comes.  UGH!

The weirdest wedding “experience” for me was where the couple had LOTS of money, the groom made it a point to email everyone constantly about how he sent her a dozen roses once a week, he had planes flying overhead with “She Said Yes” banners, her ring cost more than my house, and they created a whole website for their month-long “Europe in Style” honeymoon… and they didn’t even serve food at the wedding, had no decorations, had a cash bar, and rain was leaking through the ceiling for the entire reception.  It’s not that the wedding was awful, it was just weird that they were so into showing off their jewelry/money but did not put any effort into making it a nice experience for guests.

@mrsedwardslpn:  Nope, not kidding.  I mean, maybe it just FELT like a quarter of a mile, I might be off on that, but yeah, we were definitely carrying chairs.

Then I saw the finale episode of “The OFfice” where Dwight and Angela have everyone carry their hay bale seats to the reception and I’m like “OMG, LIVED IT!”

I dont think I have ever seen anything TERRIBLE. I’ve been to some weddings where I would never make the same choices but every couple’s style and/or budget is different. However, I have READ some ideas that make me extremely happy I wont be there and that my social circle would never consider it : )

@mrsedwardslpn:  and exactly what is so awful about a sheet cake? I am not having one, but for real, the cake is like one of the least important things at a wedding. It all tastes the same and you spend all this money on something that guests devour in ten minutes and then never think of again. It’s still cake no matter what shape it’s in.

I went to a wedding with a subsidised cash bar. Im fine with that, I don’t mind paying for a drink. HOWEVER they didnt subsidise non alcoholic drinks, so it was more expensive not to drink alcohol then to stay sober.

@stuckinwonderland:  I was the crying bride. My Mother-In-Law had been running around talking shit about my family and the wedding the entire weekend and made a spectacle at the reception. Her family didn’t speak to her for months afterwards because they were so embarrassed by her behavior. Thankfully, we’ve all forgiven and moved on since but yeah, it was pretty bad.

I went to a shotgun wedding once.  You know, one where the bride was visibly pregnant.  It was a really nice, formal affair.  However, the groom and his groomsmen got drunk at the bar before the ceremony and then proceeded to get even more ridiculously drunk at the bar during the reception.  The bride’s family was visibly pissed since they had paid for the wedding (and the couple’s new home.)  It was extremely awkward being a guest at that wedding to say the least.

I found out that the couple got divorced a few years later.  Apparently, the husband continued to party and get ridiculously drunk with his friends rather than come home to his wife and child.
