I saw a wedding where the bride and groom got quite drunk and when it came to the cake cutting the groom over-aggressively smashed cake all over the bride’s face.  It was pretty  violent! She screamed/ran away and he grabbed her arm/almost tackled her and stuffed cake in her face. It was kind of scary……

@mrsedwardslpn:  I just noticed you’re from Buffalo when you mentioned Tops: ME TOO!

Boo for spending $800 on a blah sheet cake. That’s bad.

Hmmm.  In both cases they were outfit offences.

One was at my sister’s wedding.  One of the groomsmen brought his skanky girlfriend who caused a lot of drama when she phoned my sister and demanded that she ‘uninvite’ his ex-girlfriend.  She threatened not to come if the ex was going to be there, which meant her Boyfriend or Best Friend (a groomsman) missed the rehearsal.

She did show and got drunk at the wedding and flirted with all the men including my Brother-In-Law.  Her outfit was an iridescent ruched dress that dipped down in the back so far that we all saw ass-crack.  The best part was is that she told us she had just met the her BF’s mother and that his mom said to her “you shouldn’t wear that dress” so she changed into her butt-revealing dress which was the less revealing option.

The other was when I was MCing a wedding. The bride’s Mother-In-Law and SILs were awful.  They would ignore her, hang up the phone on her etc.  At the wedding they CHANGED their outfits 3x.  The last one the two sisters both had matching long puffy dresses, one in blue and the other pink.  They looked EXACTLY like the evil stepsisters from Cinderella.

Four things stick out in my mind.  Two are DJ related.

At one wedding the DJ cut off EVERY song before starting the next one, like not mixing them in, or letting them finish, but completely cut it off mid sentence for the next song.

The other wedding, the groom told us of the horror story at the wedding, the DJ asked for a list of songs they wanted to play, when he got it he said – did you want anyone to ENJOY the wedding?  Then he played whatever he wanted, which didn’t include anything the bride and groom asked for.  Ummm who’s paying you? And I guess you don’t expect a tip?

At one of my best friends weddings, she had two “friends” I had never met show up in hooker style clothing.  Bar style short skin tight dresses covered in sequins.

At my DH’s friends wedding, someone wore a satin white dress.  Turns out she’s the cousin of the bride, and was giving a reading at the church.  She walked up the aisle to do the reading in what looked like a wedding dress.  Not just white, but also satin.  Something you’d buy to wear at your own wedding.  One of our friends went up to her after the ceremony and was like “oh congratul…oh sorry, you’re not the bride” I just about pissed myself.

My wedding was a serious MESS.

They ran out of food during the cocktail hour that ran into almost two hours (so everyone was STARVING)

The guests were never told that the bar was open for soft drinks (so they were thirsty, too)

The toasts were TERRIBLE. And all the honor attendants ended up giving REALLY bad, tipsy speeches.

One of the groomsmen said “The bride is DEFINITELY not like any girl I saw Ryan with in college” I pray to GOD the photographer caught my face. Then he went on to talk awkwardly about how “sexually attracted [we] are to one another”

And my BM/SIL’s speech was “I’m so glad I could make it to their wedding, even though they didn’t come to mine in January. Ryan has always been the favorite. I’m sure his marriage will be prefect, just like everything else he does!”

My Mom and Aunt got WASTED on Sambucca shots and tried to pick up one of the waiters! They’re both married, by the way. Then they refused to leave the venue! My mom literally had to be DRAGGED out!

Went to a super fancy aka crazy expensive wedding.  Thyey had a dessert table with every kind of dessert possible.  Next to that was a beautiful large wedding cake.  Instead of cutting up the cake, they left a knife next to the cake so the 300+ guests can dig into it themselves.  yuck…..

My Future Brother-In-Law and Future Sister-In-Law had their reception in the church’s combined kitch/dining room. there were not enough places for everyone to sit and since the kitchen was part of the room they have dirty dishes in the background of their first dance. Plus, the only thing they had to eat was soggy chicken wings and subs from walmart. By far the worst wedding I have been to. The bride made it known that they were only having a wedding to get gifts and cash though so it was to be expected.

@mrsedwardslpn:  I will definitely keep that in mind, thank you! I’m actually not engaged yet, but it should happen soon. It sounds like you’d be a great resource! 🙂

@kat912:  hahahaha I was @ a wedding where they did Karaoke all night too.  It was an older couple in their 60’s who performed all the songs.  The best one of the night was watching the guy rap to “I Like Big Butts” by Sir-Mix-Alot.  I was dying….
