Oh you should stock up on P stamps!! I did when the news of the increase first broke. She asked me at first if I wanted Christmas stamps with kind of a worried face, so maybe they sell out of them a lot?

P Stamps are done… they supposedly off the shelves totally.

Canada Post is going back to regular stamps Frown

The cost of which will go up as the market dictates

Postal Rates will go up in the New Year as well.

(I’ll see if I cannot find the announcement that Canada Post made last week with all the disappointing changes)

WORST NEWS – Anyone who has door-to-door delivery, it will soon be a thing of the past for ALL Canadians.  EVERYONE is going to get super-mailbox delivery.

End of an era.  Makes me remember when they got rid of 2x a day Delivery, and Saturday Delivery when I was a kid.

@AB Bride:  We tried to stock up tonight.

No more permenant stamps 🙁

My invites won’t go out til June, so I have no options.  I feel bad for everyone buying the .63 ones, when the postman said they are just going to have to add more postage after March anyways.

I was really hoping to find some P ones before the price went up!

I need to tell you that it was only after the third time reading this post that I understood that “post” meant “mail” rather than…thread on wedding bee.

So that changes your post a lot!

@AB Bride:  I got a pack of the Christmas stamps with the horn on them this morning! It was one of the last ones though, so I guess most postal stations are running out.

Nobody here has the P stamps. I have a couple left but that’s it.

@julies1949:  Sorry! From the above posts, I got that the Canadian stamps were labeled P for Permanent. I assumed you were talking about the US because you used the term Forever, which is what the US stamps are labeled.

To @peachacid:  Lol… Ya another Canadianism (part UK English & part American English)

We use Mail & Post interchageably.

Historically… it was known as the Royal Mail Canada up until the 1960s… when it shortened itself (official name change) to Canada Post.

To @MissMarple: “technically” they are called Permanent Stamps here… but as so much of our Language is influenced by the great USA next door… lots of people refer to them as Forever Stamps… the US Name for them…

(Interestingly the US Launched theirs a year after ours… I would be worried that the US will now follow suit on this lead as well.  So you might want to stock up.  Canada Post when making their announcement said they’d honour P Stamps for “regular” postage until they are gone.  BUT at the same time, they were supposed to be taking them off their shelves…. BUT then again, a lot of our Postal Outlets are privately operated… so no wonder that there would still be some P Stamps around after the announcement)
