I had no idea she was an “Accidental Racist” lol. Oh wait, that’s a WHOLE other thread, isn’t it? 😉

It blows my mind that she didn’t have enough insight to know any better. Good for Food Network, for holding onto a set of values and not wanting to be represented by hers.

@MrsBot:  Thanks for the article, it was well-written.

I wonder if her son will keep his show? How awkward.

My mouth dropped when I read what she said. Literally.

@mariematt:  how fucking disgusting.  Seriously I’m absofuckinglutely embarrassed to be ‘white’ if ‘white’ people are mad at the Food Network.  She’s a loser, through and through.  And anyone who comments something like little n***er boys should be walking around in black shorts and white shirts with ties as the waiters should not have a job, let alone on TV.

Anyone who thinks otherwise is an asshole, and should be smacked with a 2×4.

She pissed me off just by speaking with that fake southern drawl with her hey yaaaaaaaaa’lllllllls in the first place.  Now I just kinda want to punch her in her stupid face.

Too harsh? I think not.  She’s appalling.

@mariematt:  That blog and the “On Racism” thread going on right now are seriously ruining my day. Ugh why are people so awful?

For me icing on the cake is this interview she did last year she talks about how sad it was for her grandfather to lose all his slaves then this mess:

http://newsone.com/2613010/paula-deen-ny-times-racist/

It was at this point that Deen summoned her Black personal security guard to apparently drive home her point. And before Hollis Johnson (pictured) could walk over to Deen, she called his name then remarked in front of a packed-audience that he was as “black as this board,” pointing to the dark backdrop behind her. Adding even more insult to injury, Deen said,  “We can’t see you standing in front of that dark board!” she quipped, as the audience joined her in laughter.

Aliciapdx: Yes, I saw that about “we can’t see you standing in front of the board”. She obviously doesn’t get it, and she keeps compounding her ignorance every time she opens her mouth.
