@Woobee  I for one think your ring is gorgeous. I love things that are vintage inspired. I love the fact that it has different diamond cuts displayed tastefully (I’m picky about that but I like yours) and if its a style you like then screw everyone else. My best friend has an emerald cut and I’m as round and boring as they come. But I also love hers because it speaks volumes about her personality. Not everyone is as brave about breaking the mold that’s all. πŸ™‚

@Woobee  Why would you want ideas for a different setting? Why should other people’s opinions on your ring matter enough to make you change it? Do YOU like it? You said in your post you do. That’s all that matters, not if me, your mom, your uncle, or any other stranger doesn’t like it.

Personally, it’s not my style. However, I don’t like any step cuts ever (even Beyonce’s really, and I basically bow down to her hahaha), but guess what? It’s not my ring! You’re pretty much guranteed to not like my ring, and that’s totally okay, because it’s not your ring, haha.  P.S. I could also live in J. Crew. Like, seriously. I love their stuff. It’s funny how we have the same clothing style but not the same jewelery style haha.

Eff what everyone else thinks. As long as you like it, that’s all that matters πŸ™‚

@Woobee  It is a nice ring and I agree that when people see something that’s really different – or just not what they expected – they don’t always know what to say.

Screw ’em, though. It’s your ring and you love it, so don’t let their weirdness bother you. πŸ™‚

@Woobee  I honestly think it’s quite pretty! The centre stone doesn’t stand out a lot, so maybe that is why people aren’t so receptive to it. I’m not good with settings and the like so can’t really suggest another setting, but if it bothers YOU that the stone doesn’t stand out that much, you can always get it re-set. But in my opinion, you should have the ring you want and are happy with, without worrying about other people’s opinions! YOU are the one who is going to live with the ring and look at your hand for the rest of your life, not anybody else so YOUR opinion is the one that counts. I have seen other people’s wedding sets that aren’t my personal taste, even some I thought were ugly in my opinion, but I always think in my head that everyone is different and everyone has different taste. It’s part of what makes the world go round! It would be boring if we all liked the same things :). And truthfully, once you are married and everything settles down, I don’t think anybody really looks at your ring lol. (Except, of course, for you! Again … the reason why your opinion is the only one that matters.)

@LVoeBride  Ok, I posted earlier saying I thought those were baguettes but then realized they weren’t. But, since you mentioned it also maybe I’m just losing my eyesight. The first picture looks like baguettes but the third one looks like it is a design on the band, not diamonds.

@Kir32  Oh pshhhh, you’re right it’s the band. I mainly looked at the first pic (in which the design is catching light and really does look like baguettes to me) and then just a little scroll down drive by on the ones posted after. I still think it’s neat & very complimentary looking to the stone!

@Woobee  Your ring is beautiful!! Don’t listen to what others say!  One of my friends actually laughed at my ring and asked to see the real one πŸ™

@Woobee

Hi Woobee!

I’m confused…. are you the same person who posted on Pricescope a few months back about finding the perfect setting? Because if that isn’t the same ring I’m thinking of, I will eat my hat. I’m cygnet over on PS and I have a very, very similar ring.

I work in the jewelry business and I regularly get compliments on my ring– but ONLY from other people who know diamonds. Diamond lovers can appreciate my ring for how special it is, but most people just don’t “get” rings unless they’re looking at a solitaire or a halo. That’s just what’s trendy these days and that’s what people notice. Most people are also unfamiliar with asschers and don’t understand why someone would pick one over a round or a princess. Generally most “non diamond-freaks” have nothing to say about my ring, though I think it’s honestly just not that common for people in general to notice or comment on someone else’s jewelry IRL. When we post our ring pics on the internet, we are giving others an opportunity to really get a good look at what we are wearing and we are inviting comments. In real life it can be considered rude or strange for someone to stare at someone else’s hand and offer unsolicited comments. I think this has less to do with your ring than you might think.

I think your ring is absolutely stunning and I just love those prongs. I’m sad to see that you are questioning your choice!

I love every thing about it!!!!!  But I love art deco.  And I think it looks great on you!  πŸ™‚  I would just ignore the lack of comments.  Not everyone is into jewelry some people have not seen a lot of differet rings in real life.  If I saw you out though, I would stop you to comment, lol.  So just love it and don’t worry about anyone else.  πŸ™‚  They don’t need to love it!  Only you do.  And what a good Fiance you have that got you exactly what  you dreamed of.

And *I* would not go with a thinner band.  The appeal to me is that wall of diamond look.  I adore it!!!

@Woobee  First off I see we are date twins!! yay lol ( was a waiting bee so my date is totally made up)

And secondly I’m a girl that loves all styles (fashion major). My personal style is girlie classic with a funky “natural” twist. I honestly think your ring is soooooooo beautiful. I love different rings they show a women who isn’t afraid to be different and a SO who loves that about his/her girl.

My ring is a rose gold “cluster” with a halo it shines like crazy and I’m sure not most ppl will have my ring. The only person that didn’t seem to crazy or as I liek to say underwhelmed about my ring was my mother but she honestly isn’t a huge excited person I never let that bother me. Some people may not be those that show that kind os emotion over a ring they wanna see cause people are nosey lol.

Rock that beautiful unqiue ring even if you do get it changed sonner or later be happy at what you have now because you do like it and it represents where you’re at right now embrace it hun!!

I absolutely love it!  And it’s very classic with a twist, as you described.  I have no idea why people would not be commenting as well!

@Woobee  It shouldn’t matter how everyone else feels about your ring- no one has really said anything about mine, either.  But- I am a super plain/simple ring- which is perfect for me.  I’m not a jewelry girl, and anything over the top would have annoyed me and I wouldn’t want to wear it daily.

I’ve had a feew people in various jewelry stores comment on how beautiful my ring is- likely because I have a high-quality diamond and they all work in mall stores where they are all I1’s (not that there aren’t some beautifil I1 diamonds out there)- with less than desireable cuts LOL

My ring isn’t a lot of people’s tastes, either…..but honestly, I politely don’t give a sh*t.  It’s MY ring.  As much as I can recognize a beautiful piece of jewelry- pretty much any ring but mine isn’t my taste LOL

Don’t feel bad πŸ™‚
