A recent post here got me thinking about this photo. At the time I’ll admit I was a tad disappointed FH hadn’t escalated our dinner plans to something slightly fancier. But in hindsight… celebrating our engagement with meatball pizza and coke zero is just so TOTALLY cheesily us that I have to laugh 😛 (and I planned a night at the Hilton and nice dinner to celebrate our first anniversary ten days later so we got the best of both worlds :P)
This would have been about 20 minutes after the proposal and I was still in shock. I’m emotional at the best of times and even though (a) I knew he had the ring – I helped pick it and (b) I had a darn good idea he was going to do it that night I was still taken by surprise and was crying and shaking and my face went bright RED lol
The only thing I’m really sad about is that this is the only semi-decent photo of us together that was taken that night and used FH’s iPhone 4 (they’re SO yellow in low light 🙁 ) because my 5’s battery died (I only had 7% battery left – waiting bees PLEASE make sure your phone is charged if you think the moment is coming!) and I didn’t think to get out my proper camera that I’d been snapping lots of sunset photos with! Boohoo. But it’s still a moment in time I am SO glad to have a photo of. I think this photo tells a thousand words 🙂
What’s your favourite proposal or post-proposal photo?
(Oh… can I just add my 7% of battery went on facetiming my parents in NZ (who were waiting for my call more or less! Both my parents & FH’s family were in on it). I’d only had my iPhone 5 for a few weeks and FaceTiming over 3G was still a novelty! I LOVE technology for moments like this, especially since my family are in another country)
