My SO is 2 years older tha me, and it works out great!
My ex was 6 years older and that relationship didn’t work out because we were on completely different timelines with our lives, and what we wanted.

I think bigger age gaps can work, so long as you’re on the same page.

I’m 6 years older than my fiance.  It was an issue in the beginning, because when we met he had just turned 20 and I was 26, and I felt really weird about dating him.  The good thing is he looks a little older, and I look young, so we look about the same age haha

Sugar Plum.x:  Fiance is 20 years older than me. We haven’t had any issues related to age that I can think of. He doesn’t look (or act) his age and it’s always a shocker when he gets ID’d when we’re out. He takes great care of himself and I eat so much healthier than I used to once we moved in together and started cooking for each other. He also just has great Sicilian genes – his parents and older relatives look amazing well into their 70s and 80s.

To have 20 years on me means that he’s had experiences that, to him, were “a lifetime ago.” Our marriage will be his second and he’s had the opportunity to do a lot of dating, although I’ve had my fair share of dating experiences as well. All of those experiences made him the man that he is today, and I love him dearly for that. It’s easy to get intimidated by your significant other’s past, but regardless of where he’s been, he is now my wonderful fiance and will be my husband and the father of our future children. Nothing can touch that feeling 🙂

FH is 30 and I am 26. Honestly, I often forget we have an age difference at all. We are in very similar places in our lives, so that really helps. Really, the only thing that has come up is that I look more youthful than he does (people say I look 21-22) whereas he looks a bit older than his age!

He is 6 years older than me. It’s only weird when we remember that I was 12 when he graduated highschool lol. But we have the same goals and timeline for school, kids, buying a home, etc. I think that’s probably the most important thing, no matter what the age gap.

I am 7 years older than my fiance! And it’s totally not an issue in general but I do feel like we have to have kids a lot sooner because I’m going to be mid 30s when we get married next year.
