@renwoman:  I’m very happy with my chandelier earrings – they are $80 on etsy, but I got them for $25 and they hadn’t even been worn (they turned out to be too big for the bride).

Also, I paid all of $8 for some NWT Spanx Haute Countour shapers that go for $128, but I’m not as happy about that one as the top elastic is coming off in one spot. Hopefully the seamstress will be able to fix it, and if not – hey, I’ll wear them with other formal wear till they can no longer be worn. 🙂

Not Wedding Related but I got a pair of Pour La Victoire heels (retail $250) for $25. Yes, that’s 90% off.

My venue is costing me $1 per head, and that includes tables and chairs. My future Mother-In-Law found it. At first I thought she was kidding (thankfully she was not)!

My ceremony dress was a sample in perfect condition I purchased for $915 marked down from $2450 ($2597 with tax); my reception dress I purchased brand new on ebay for $219, normal price $1200 ($1272 with tax); my veil I got a sample in perfect condition for $16 marked down from $203 ($215 with tax)

So all in all I paid $1150 for $4080 worth of merchandise (average 72% off). SCORE!

My wedding shoes are autographed by Manolo Blahnik. I wanted that particular shoe (Hangisi or Something Blue is the style) but looked up the price and had a small heart attack.  I always buy on sale and those ones NEVER go on saleFrown

I was looking on e-vil Bay but there are so many fakes, you have to be careful.  This pair popped up and the seller said they were a prop in the Sex and the City movie.  She had a bunch of pictures so I could tell they were real, (I have a few pairs of Manolos and used to work in retail so I can tell a fake). She showed the soles with Manolo Blahnik’s signature and a picture of him signing the shoes (with a black sharpie, which is what my shoes appear to be signed with.)

So then of course I googled Sarah Jessica Parker’s shoe size and Manolo’s signature for comparison.  SJP auctioned off shoes for charity and we are the same size.  I also saw Manolo’s signature which was the same.

I was convinced they were the real deal so I bid. I then hopped on a plane to go to New Zealand for my SIL’s wedding.  When we arrived (24 hours later) I found I had won the auction – no one else had bid on them.

I ended up paying $300 less than they sell for in stores. They didn’t come with the dust bag or box, but they’re autographed! So, still expensive but not nearly as much (they would have cost more than my dress if I bought them full-price.)

Shoes for me too!  They retail for $1,200 but I got them for $330.  Still a lot but that’s like 70% off designer shoes!  The way I look at it, I saved $870 by buying them, but I would have only saved $330 if I didn’t buy them – no brainer! Tongue Out
