@Pokemon:  I fidget a lot, crack my knuckles, pick at my skin sometimes…

I pick at the skin on my lips. I’ve been doing it since I can remember, so stopping would take a lot of work. I mostly do it when I’m anxious or nervous, which makes it even worse since that means I’m usually places where I shouldn’t be doing stuff like that.

@mepayne:  I do exactly this except on my thumbs instead of lips.  Do you pick your lips at your sleep?  When I’m really stressed, I’ll wake up with picked at thumbs even though I went to bed and they were fine.

Picking my nails, hangnails, my skin. Cracking knuckles. Twirling hair. Picking my nose.

Haha.. I’ve gone beyond cracking knuckles to cracking my neck & back…!  Feels GREAT but sounds disgusting to others!

By far, my worst habit is picking at the skin on my face. I can turn a whitehead into a friggin’ scab like no other. I always have a damn scab or four on my face at a time. It sucks. It’s such a hard habit to break for me.

I have quit the following, completely:

meat, dairy, sugar, cigarettes, alcohol, processed food, and gluten

WHY can’t I quit picking?

I’ve never had anyone complain to me but it drives me CRAZY – I constantly twirl my hair. I HATE IT! But I can’t seem to stop myself.

I pull my hair out. When I’m in deep thought, I’ll fondle on thread. It it feels super thick, I pull it out. I have no idea why.

Nail biting 🙁 I’ve been doing it for more than 20 years… it’s a hard habit to break! I find that if they’re unpainted, I’m more likely to bite them, but if they’re short, I want to grow them out before I paint them, but then they get long and I want to bite them again… it’s a vicious cycle!

Whenever I am worried or stressed out, I pick at the skin around my fingernails. Gross, I know…but I can’t help it.
