Hey ladies!!! I’m really hoping you can help me. I’ve been battling making boiled peanuts for a VERY long time now & I can never seem to get it right! I want a GOOD Cajun Boiled Peanut Recipe!!! Something not too hard, either. Please share!!!

Hmmm… I am from NC and we eat boiled peanuts but I am not sure what “cajun boiled peanuts” are… I am guessing just a spicey version? For me to boil peanuts I just plop them in boiling water with about 1/4- 1/2 cup salt and let them boil away for about 8 hours.

We don’t have a set recipe, but we tend to fill up the crockpot with green peanuts, 2 bags of old bay seasoning, a bottle of crushed red pepper, a few chopped jalapeños and some salt. We don’t use a ton of salt at the beginning, because my husband hates anything too salty. You can always add more towards the end. We also like our peanuts as hot as we can get them, though, you might just like having a bag or 2 of old bay if you don’t really like the heat.
Sadly, though, our favorite cajun peanuts are from a can. When we’re lazy, we just open a can and throw it on the stove to warm up.
Really, though, everyone tends to like their peanuts differently, so the best thing to do is just play around with it. We have seriously tried everything and still haven’t perfected it. If you get done cooking them and they taste too hot or too salty, just rinse them and throw them back in the pot with fresh water.
