For me, it is the sheer motivation to work out. I have ZERO will power. I don’t even really like sweets, but I crave salty things. I rarely eat junk food and if we go out to eat I usually get chicken and veggies- I just will absolutley talk myself out of working out. It is terrible!

@Phamnomenon:  Same. I’m good if I’m counting calories for the day. I hardly ever go over and I’m content. But if I don’t count, its like I go crazy and splurge on horrible things! Even when I’m not dieting I always count just to maintain.

@Sunfire:  Yup. Same here. I basically allow myself to have wine on the weekends now, but NOT during the week. I have found that my energy levels have gone up since that restriction.

As for the OP’s question – keeping a consistent regimen when it comes to working out. I’ve been working late nights at work due to busy season, and it’s just so hard to go out for a jog when you get home at 9 pm, and it’s dark out. Womp womp womp.

@mu_t:  me too! I live around the corner so I go there all the time (to sit on their patio avoiding the 600 calorie beers)

@AnnieAAA:  Lady, those beers are like sweet nectar. They are also by far the highest in calories πŸ™ No light beer will do I’m afraid.

I have to start the day with high protein or I’m screwed.

A healthy omelet (well-sized) can carry me through until 4pm – then I can do a tiny snack on the commute home and THEN a good dinner.   If I put any kind of sugar in my coffee or starch with my breakfast.   Forget it.

I have a massive sweet tooth and like a lot of people – work in a place where junk food is CONSTANTLY available.

@mu_t:  I love BierMarkt – especially their Esplanade location!  I’ve been told that Beer Bistro’s better though – I’ve never been.

Me, I’m an emotional eater – that’s probably my biggest struggle.  Under most kinds of stress and unhappiness, I eat my feelings, and I can out-eat most men I know.  Plus I looove all the worst kinds of foods – I have a huge sweet tooth and I love me lots of rice/pasta/bread, cheese, salt, you name it.

I kind of lost my momentum on weight loss because of some awful real life stuff, so that’s currently my biggest struggle.  It’s really hard getting back into it once I’ve fallen off.  Plus I commute over 2 hours a day, so I’ve been slacking off on exercise, because by the time I get home after my post-work workout, it’s almost 8 and I can’t sleep too late.  I’m really greedy with my me-time (as in I need a LOT of time to myself to unwind at the end of the day) so I’ve really been slacking off. >.<

I’m totally busting my hump and yet I see no results…..it feels so futile. Whereas my fiance is totally shedding pounds πŸ™ If I exercise too much my knee injury/arthritis flairs up so I can only work out 3 days a week.

Went on the scale today=tears.

@mu_t:  I have been here for over 4 years now πŸ™‚ Always lived King West way. We should all get together at Bier Markt and not drink beer, talk weddings, annoy all the men around us πŸ˜‰
