@MsMindle:  What favors did you get? My favors will be almost a grand too but I am doing three separate ones. Candy bar, photo booth and champagne splits.

Well besides the reception hall (about $15k) I’d say my dress, belt and veil combo which is $4,855 is 2nd…and photography is $4,500.

I’m going to say our photobooth.  $1000

 It’s not “necessary” so I consider it a splurge

Food for sure.  Our wedding budget is $13,000 or so, and our food will cost at least 50% of that budget!  I’m not sure what’s normal for food budget, so I don’t know if it’s a huge splurge, but it feels like a splurge for us!

Dress, I guess.  Spent 40% more than I had mentally budgeted.  Those wedding shops know what they are doing with all those gorgeous ethereal gowns!

The e-ring is a splurge too, I guess, since I never wear expensive jewelry. We’re getting moissanite, which is a bargain compared to a diamond, but I still feel butterflies when I think about it!

Photographer…we’re getting a great deal but it is SO. MUCH. MONEY.

Love your shoes! My biggest splurges were photography and professional lighting. I don’t regret either one, but LORD! Writing those checks were difficult.

Definitely photography! $3300 for six hours, it will be so worth it. Our photographer is amazing and we’re so comfortable with her.

My shoes were my biggest splurge (everything else falls into the average pricing for a wedding) and they were the Kate Spades Clarice Glitter Heel:)

@Rivendeler:  Gorgeous dress and veil!

My biggest splurge was our island venue. Pics (sorry so many, couldn’t choose just one!):

My new boots. They were the same price as our photographer costs for 2 hours (we are eloping). But I’ll wear these boots for the rest of my life.

Currently it’s my dress, but the rings we like come to about four times as much as was tentatively (and unrealistically) budgeted for.  We’ve still not decided whether or not to go for them, but I think I can pull back on some other items so that we can afford them and my mum bought my dress so that’s a whole section of the budget we’re not spending any more!

I will say photography.  We ended up spending $5k which is more than i was expecting.  I had no idea how much photography was!  I love the pictures though, so I think it was worth it!

If it’ll make your Fiance feel better, our splurge was definitely our venue. It was over our initial budget by about 50%. So tell him it could be worse Wink

I love your shoes btw.
