@Mrs_Harmer_to_be: That’s such an awesome theme!!
I’m not completely sure what my theme is, since my bridesmaid and Maid/Matron of Honor (my mom) are planning it… but based on my bridesmaid’s pinterest board, I think it’s a combo of rustic, pink, and cupcakes aha.

@bossypants: I have no clue but my Maid/Matron of Honor is really excited about it! She started planning in Dec. for a shower in June. The only thing I do know is it involves pink!

How do themes work for bridal showers? Do you ask the guests to attend in costume? What kind of group is appropriate to ask to do that? Friends of the bride, sure, but what about extended people like grandparents or future aunts? As the Maid/Matron of Honor, is there a way to know if guests would be game for a themed party without pestering the bride about everyone’s personalities?
Post # 27
@bossypants: One is tea party themed, and one is mardi gras themed.
Post # 28
@KimmySumShuga: Will do!
@lina010: love it, one for your inner lady and the other for your inner party girl
@MOHlookingForIdeas: No bridal party here so my sister (who’s essentially my MOH) and I are planning it. We will let everyone know about the theme but most likely only friends and cousins and maybe my mom will dress according to that. We will also tell older family members about the theme but we certainly don’t expect them to be in costume. I think as a Maid/Matron of Honor, you shouldn’t be too worried..most young people are game for a theme party especially when it’s a shower and expectations aren’t too high.

I dreamed of a tea themed shower, and that’s what I got – it was at a restaurant that does that kind of thing in a cute pink room with different kinds of teas, little sandwiches and pastries on trays, etc. My Maid/Matron of Honor did an amazing job decorating with paper flowers via pinterest and gave everyone tea favors of my favorite tea (Alice’s Tea from Alice’s Tea Cup in NYC) in little baggies that said “A+Y A Perfect Blend”. It was perfect!

We are going to Italy on our honeymoon so my shower is Italian themed. The hosts have picked out Italian decorations and are having different Italian foods and drinks. The cake they ordered is even Italian wedding cake. I am so excited for the shower they are planning.
