I think “around the clock” is fun! Each guest gets a certain time and gets a gift that corresponds to that time. 🙂

Mine in the state where I live is pink and diamonds (I didn’t choose it) but back home my shower is going to be a french feminine theme. We’re decorating with pink feathers and mini Eiffel towers. 🙂

I think my shower theme (if you can call it a theme) is BBQ and beer. I’m really not a fan of showers so I want mine to be as un-showery as possible!

i didn’t have much of a theme (i’m not into shower games). we had a brunch at a country club. the favors were kind of themed… to go along with my bachelorette party. maple syrup and pancake mix from vermont, very yummy!

my friends shower was chocolate themed, her main color was chocolate brown. we had chocolate everywhere- personalized m&m’s, chocolate roses, chocolate cupcakes, etc. we played chocolate themed games- guess what chocolate you’re eating, chocolate trivia, how many m&m’s are in the jar, don’t say chocolate or your pin will be taken away.

for another friend we did a scrapbook shower. everyone brought their favorite picture of themselves with the bride, and we had tons of scrapbooking materials so everyone could make a page and she had a full scrapbook at the end of the shower.

My Maid/Matron of Honor was talking about a south beach vibe party– refreshing drinks in the heat of August, sexy, and relaxing. Sounds good to me!

Artbee – those are so cute!

I think for showers there are two kinds of themes and sometimes they can overlap. First there is the type of gift theme, such as the around the clock theme. Then there is actually the decor theme such as chocolate.

My moms friend asked about doing a “linen” party where I guess guests bring the sheets, towels, etc that we have registered for. I’m not sure we will go with it though.

My MatronOH is doing all different kinds of mis-matched plates, cups, etc. with bright, fun colors!!! I’m pretty excited about it ;]

I have googled and found a few inspiration ideas, so I thought I would share:Most of these are just decor themes.

Here are a few themes based around gifts:

Around the Clock:

“Stock the Kitchen” Theme

If you were doing a lingerie or something, maybe these:

Bridal Shower Theme:  The Honeymoon

From TheKnot:

What it is: A travel-themed bridal shower where guests bring gifts that the couple can enjoy on their honeymoon — for day and night. Consider going in on a group gift like certificates for massages or gourmet dinners at their honeymoon destination.

Best For: The bride who loves to travel. Or, the couple who is paying for the honeymoon themselves (and could use some extra perks).

Planning Tip: Play up the couple’s chosen honeymoon locale: Use maps of the destination for place mats, serve food indigenous to that region, give passport holders as favors.

Potential Pitfall: When guests hear “honeymoon shower,” some may immediately think of sex toys. Consider calling it a travel shower if you don’t think that’s appropriate for your crowd.

Home and Garden Party:
