MsBear :  He sounds much like my FI!  He was all about the specs and wanted a super high quality diamond. This really surprised me as he’s not into sparkly stuff of any kind! When the ring arrived, he was drooling over it just like I was and looking at it in all different lighting throughout the house. He was amazed at the colors it showed.  🙂

my ring is an SI2 but i have never seen any inclusions in it it is also cut very well so i think this makes the diamond more sparkly even when you have inclusions

Mine is SI 0.99ct diamond colour E, it sparkles loads but I don’t think the cut is that great. You can see one feather like inclusion to the top left but no black spots

Clarity rarely affects sparkle unless the stone is full of clouds. Cut affects sparkle. I have diamonds from SI1 to VVS1 and their clarity has no appreciable affect on sparkle. Clarity is often a “mind-clean” issue.
