I still don’t have a father-daughter dance song. The suggestions of songs given to us by the band were really tacky and we don’t want to use them, but neither of us can think of a good one to use instead. What’s your father-daughter (or mother-son) dance song?

Daddy’s Angel by T Carter
The one I REALLY wanted was I Loved Her First by Heartland. But FI’s sister used it so I felt like I needed a different song.

Mine is kind of personal in the way that I am going to be dancing with my stepfather. Him and my mom got married when I was six. My real father was in a bad way at that time in his life and put us through so much pain and hell… soo now almost 20 years later I look at my stepdad as my “true” father, and someone who came in and rescued my mom and I and gave us an amazing life..
I am going to dance with him to Hero by Mariah Carey. 🙂

I decided years ago before I was even engaged that “I loved her first” by Heartland would be my song with my dad! I also considered “Because you loved me” by Celine Dion. My fiance also thought it would be funny to do “Sweet Child O Mine” just because it has “child” in it

My father and I are dancing to My Little Girl by Tim McGraw. We are gonna cut it a little short and bust into dancing to Glenn Miller Bands “In the Mood” since when I was a flower girl at my babysitters wedding, they played that song and my dad and I stole the show dancing and twirling around the dance floor to it. They even played it again later that night just because it was such a hit 🙂

@thimble: Haha me too! I’ve been listening to it practically nonstop for the past couple of months so I can desenstize myself to it. Otherwise I’ll be bawling through the whole dance!
