I really enjoy doing some kind of cardio (usually on the elliptical right now, since it’s so cold out) for a little bit, and then going straight in the 30 Day Shred for 20 minutes. I get too bored figuring out my own workouts, so videos or classes work best for me!

I have been going back to my old standby BFF Billy Blanks and Taebo. The most recent version includes a 30min workout that isn’t too crazy but isn’t too light either – you really can workout as hard as you want to.

I tried the Biggest Loser fat burning workout last night and all of the lunges hurt my thighs. I could hardly sit at work today, lol! But it probably was a good workout also.

I also like anything Jazzercise since I used to be a regular for like three years. They are pretty good about having workouts that don’t hurt your knees nowadays – as opposed to the 80’s aerobics that they are known for, where women were busting knees left and right with their pastel colored leotards on.

I love walking personally, but the best workout for that time frame is a ballet video. Ballet is the greatest workout. You get cardio and it tones places that you never thought could be tight!

Ondemand has Yogaworks body slim which is a hour, it’s my favorite and has a kick ass cardio in my opinion. Im sure after awhile it isn’t so hard but i feel so strong afterwards.

@oracle: I swear by balletone: the dancer’s workout for everybody. It is a very easy one and is alot of fun. There are some tougher ones out there, but I would start with that one. It gives you grace and posture… and put me in better shape (both looks and strength) than anything else.

Just give yourself a few times to get the hang of it, the first few times you look and feel like a fool! 🙂

I have been to so many great 60 minute classes at my gym with a good warm up and cool down and a good workout in between but there doesn’t seem to be any great 60 minute videos like my gym classes.  There will be a workout DVD with different levels of instruction that are all short.  It’s frustrating!

I’ve tried a few videos and done my years in some nice gyms, and nothing comes close to the effectiveness and efficiency of this stupid old video from the 80s that my mom used to do when I was growing up. It’s The Firm Body Sculpting Basics and it combines cardio with resistance work and weight lifting for results that feel like you worked out for 90 min+ in only an hour. I’ve tried getting similar muscle tone from the gym, but it takes so freaking long to go around to all the different machines and do all the resting periods between the intervals. In The Firm, you’re using every second of the workout for something, for example when you run in place while pumping 5-lb weights in each hand, or do fast squats with 10- or 15-lb weights. It’s not boring either, since the movements switch every few seconds.
