Bell’s Oberon is the best summer beer (as most Midwest/Michigan girls will agree)!  We are planning on having a Keg of Oberon either at the wedding or at the after party!  Can’t wait!

My friends are major beer lovers, it’s great because when we go out we try a million by sharing!

I love wheat beers.  My fave beers are mostly made by the Mill Street Brewery in Toronto (love the organic, I had a Belgian Wit Beer that was peach flavoured it was great, my friends and I all loved the Milk Stout which the waiter said was gross ha ha).  I also love Young’s Double Chocolate Stout.

Once at a pub called C’est What in Toronto I had a beer float!  It was a scoop of ice cream in chocolate hazulnut stout with whipped cream and chocolate syrup on top.  It was honestly delicious, it tasted sort of like a chocolately iced cap!

LOL I have a funny beer story for all of you.

Fiance and I got invited by some heavily partying friends (well, that defines most of our friends, but anyway) to participate in a case race. Which means you and a partner try to finish a case (24 cans) first. It was a case race for couples, $20 buy in. So I am ALL IN this, and decided I would win because we’d have almost $200 for our wedding from it!

We fight on… we win. I drank 11.5, he drank 12.5. I will never drink Miller Lite again. I ended up puking and going home (some fun, right) and wake up the next morning and ask Fiance how much $$ we won. His response?

“$30. And we spent it on pizza for you.”

YEP they changed it to $5 buy in last minute and no one told me. BOOOOOOO! Oh what a beer-loving, competitive, wedding obsessed girl will do.

I’m a pretty “mainstream” beer drinker, so excuse me if this reeks of “I don’t drink cool beer,” but I love Shiner Bock. I grew up 10 minutes away from Shiner, TX, but now I live in PA so it’s like impossible to find. Every time I visit home, I drink it. Laughing

@kjpugs – I emailed them about it, and they are expanding slowly.  I’ve asked that they let me know when it gets here.  But it looks like it might be awhile.  I like things that taste interesting.

@Sage LOL Shiner Bock is a cool beer! Sorry if I came off like that- IPA’s are just tough to get mainstream. My fave mainstream beer is probably Sam Adams… love their Winter Ale.

@Jelly Bean25 before we got it on this side of the Mississippi Fiance would stock up when he visited friends in Chicago or St Louis. What’s the closest to you that has it?

Leinenkugal’s Summer Shandy, well in the summer time and thenLeinenkugal’s Honey Weisse. Any other time.

YUMMY, i wanna leave work now. 🙂 Great post. On the other hand My fiance LOVES any new beer to try. For a valentines gift I got him a 3 month membership to the beer of themonth club. Although he still has a lot left, he loves to just keep them in the fridge and try them on random occasions! It’s a GREAT gift to the guys who like to try different types of beer from not well known breweries!

Do any of you guys have supermarkets/stores that let you get a 6 pack “sampler” of any of their beers? A Kroger near us does this (but not all of them) and I know Trader Joes does too. I LOVE that option, it’s like 6 little surprise parties!

It looks like Georgia is the closest.  I don’t generally get up to Georgia too often.  Hopefully it’s almost here.

love this thread! so good to see other beer-girls out there. =) Sam Adams Cherry Wheat is probably my favorite beer ever. I’m also really enjoying the pumpkin ales that are out this time of year. (and of course, anything blue moon.)

A beer usually isn’t my first choice for a drink… but I do appreciate a good brew! I think the best beers are local brews. Whenever I’m in a new city I’ll ask to try their local beer 🙂

My favourite beer comes from the Granville Island Brewery in Vancouver, Canada.
