My absolute favorite in the world is Starbucks Christmas Blend. I wish they sold it all year!

But I also like Green Mountain Coffee – their breakfast blend is really yummy. And Kona coffee.

Wicked Wolf by Raven’s Brew Coffee. They are a boutique roastery, and their coffee is to die for. We order straight from the roastery because there are no retail outlets near us.

Since you’re in Michigan now, see if you can track down JOE, especially Wake Up Joe. I tried to get a list of places that carry it, but they never got back to me. I know Meijer doesn’t, but Harding’s and D&W do…but those aren’t in your area, I don’t think. I just emailed them again about a list.

I order coffee from the Vermont Coffee Company.  It’s awesome!  I like all of their normal roasts (dark, french, and mild), as well as their fancy ones.  They deliver and they’re AWESOME.

Green Mountain Coffee’s Nantucket or Breakfast Blend. Also Newman’s Special Blend is delicious as well!

The beans are from Brazil and Jamaica and we buy them green and roast them ourselves. We like it not as overcooked as most places that pre-roast the beans. When they are freshly, lightly cooked, the flavor is outstanding!!! And it has more caffeine this way as well. It doesn’t need any milk or sugar at all.

My least favorite coffee is Starbucks (burnt beyond recognition) and those donut shops where they pour it hot into a cheap plastic cup that melts plastic into your coffee. Not only is this horribly toxic, but you can even smell and taste the plastic…especially since the donut shop coffee is so stale and watered-down there’s nothing much else to taste except any milk or sugar you might have added.

@roweboat:  If I get the list, I’ll let you know. I think you guys have Kroger over there.  Favorite takeout is Biggby!

@joya_aspera:  Can you recommend any beans that are already roasted?  And/or, can you discuss how you roast the beans?  Do you have a roaster, or do you use your oven?

@peachacid:  Yes, we have a coffee roaster and a coffee grinder. They are just little machines that take up minimal counter space. Roasting takes less than 5 minutes. I can’t recommend any pre-roasted beans because we don’t buy them. I guess if I was looking, I’d go for the ones that they pre-roast for people at the green bean store.
