i used to wear Makeup For Ever HD foundation because it is faaantastic, but gave it up because it is like 40 bucks a bottle, and the closest I come to a dupe for that is loreal true match. their color selection is really good too. neutrogena healthy skin (a dupe for nars sheer) is just OK to me, i have a pretty oily t-zone and that makeup has worn off by lunchtime. revlon colorstay and photoready are a little too matte for my taste (especially in the summer time) but the staying power is good. I guess it just depends what kind of coverage and finish you want and what type of skin you have.

I’ve been using Covergirl and Olay tone rehab foundation. It’s very silky feeling, but light and the color stays decently well. I’ve been enjoying it. The bottle lasts forever becaue a little goes a long way.

I Heard the new Urban Decay Naked foundation is supposed to be really great. It will be $38 when it comes out end of this month. Not sure if thats out of range?

I use MUFE HD and Paula Dorf’s Oil Free foundation but I used to use Neutrogena. I also really liked their pressed powders but I can’t use them since they changed their shades a while back.

Revlon ColorStay, the liquid kind and for oily/combo skin, for me as well. I don’t really use it as a full face foundation, more as a concealer because it’s a lot of coverage, at least for me. And I’m very forgetful about my makeup, so I’m always impressed that it stays on until I intentionally take it off!

Revlon Colorstay here, too. I use the formula for dry skin, though. I do find it quite matte, and it *can* get cakey if you apply it too thick. I usually use a stiff, flat top brush (“powder brush” from ELF) that I spray with a bit of water, then I apply the foundation in a thin layer with circular motions. That gives me great coverage & lasting power, without looking overly matte or cakey. I also like finishing with Milani multitasker face powder, which I’ve found I can wear as a powder foundation on days when I’m too lazy to do a full face. (ETA: The only thing I don’t like about the Colorstay is the color selection. There aren’t enough shades with yellow undertones. I use Sand Beige, which is supposedly a “yellow” undertone, but I find it still a bit pinker than my face. Sometimes I’ll mix a few drops of another foundation to make sure it matches perfectly. Otherwise, I need to blend a bit down my neck).
This is going to sound strange, but the other DS foundation I really like is Wet n Wild tinted moisturizer. It’s labeled a tinted moisturizer, but I actually find it more like a light-medium coverage foundation. The finish is more dewey, and I’ve found the staying power to be surprisingly good for a $3 DS buy. I may have just gotten lucky with it, but I quite like it.

IDK what it is with me and drugstore but the foundation always makes me breakout. I just switched to Clinique’s Stay Matte Oil Free Makeup and its heaven for the humidity in Ohio!

Almay the one that adjusts to your skin tone. It really does work!

This is a really helpful thread – I’m totally clueless about makeup so I love it. I’ve been using BB cream + bronzer or L’oreal mineral makeup, but my engagement photos are this weekend so I need a full coverage foundation.
Would anyone recommend Revlon ColourStay over Revlon PhotoReady for pro pics? Or vice versa?
