erp, nevermind. I was replying to a post about malachite jewelry (I love it too, especially a smooth slab that shows the beautiful circular patterns), but I misread it as “marcasite jewelry”. I was talking about how it’s really pyrite not marcasite and misnamed, and how that inaccurate naming gets under my skin…. but malachite is really malachite of course, not pyrite at all or even vaguely similar looking….lol

Right now I am obsessed with Green baltic amber

And have always adored labradorite. In fact, I am surprised I have no jewerly in either of these stones. Wth.

@Aquaria:  it’s almost guaranteed that it’s all pyrite, because it wears much better. Marcasite would chip and crumble very easily. Sometimes pyrite can look very gray/silver when it’s cut. In natural form though never gets as white-silver as arsenopyrite, which is a good thing! Arsenopyrite isn’t safe so it’s good it can be visibly identified as a raw mineral, and nobody would put it in jewelry.

That specific chrysocolla is called sonora sunrise. Kind of like how there are different kinds of agates. We have a few gem dealers that have this stuff.

@Aquaria:  We had a gemmy clear specimen of blue kyanite. Sadly I do not have a pic as it was a custom done on the spot.

@joya_aspera:  Here is a turquoise with copper. I do apologize for it not being alone but I only have a pic of most of these as a finished product.

I have two jade & diamond pendants, gifts from Mother-In-Law and my mom after I gave birth to my child.

The big oval jade in diamonds & platinum is a family heirloom, originally belonged to DH’s grandma who lived to be 103 years old.
