We have two dogs and one of them “talks.” If you take his toy away he’ll do this pitiful thing and talk to you, and if you talk back, he will too. It’s SO funny! The other one is just so “human like” it’s unreal. She does the same thing as yours – when Fiance gets up to go to work or leave, she immediately claims his spot. Sometimes I’ll wake up and she’ll be RIGHT up next to me with her arm thrown over me. It’s HILARIOUS! Dogs are adorable.

I have 1 cat that “talks” as well.  If his litter box is dirty, he will stand down there and complain until I clean it! haha.  My other cat will nag me if I come home too late.  He also pouts, when he is mad he will sit right next to you so you know he’s there, but he will turn his back to you. It’s great.

Darling Husband cracks up when I have a discussion with one of the cats.  It often goes something like:

“Oh, is it dinner time already?”
“Oh, ok, I’ll feed you then.”
“What is it going to be today?”
“Salmon and rice entree, how does that sound?”
“Or how about tuna and shrimp?”
“Ok, tuna it is.”

My male pomeranian (brown one) gets very annoyed with me if I ignore him or don’t give him treats quickly enough (with other various reasons as well). When he is at his limit in patience he does the “ahem” sigh that we women do sometimes when we are waiting a bit too long.

When he does it he looks straight at me, sighs and then lays down.

So cute! I love how smart and funny animals are Smile. One of my cats can open doors, and will carry on a great conversation with you! One of my favorite things about pets is how they can just sense when you are upset or sick or just when something is wrong and they try their best to make you feel better.

When I was still living with my parents, I was throwing a tennis ball to my dog in our yard one day and talking to my mom. I guess I took a little too long to throw the ball for our dog’s liking, because she let out this humongous sigh and flopped over on her side on the grass as if to say, “Go ahead and talk, I’ll just take a nap. It’s not like I have anything better to do.”

We burst out laughing, and she immediately learned that this was a cute trick that would get our attention, so from then on whenever I was too slow throwing the ball, over she went with a flop and a sigh.

Our fave human trait from our dog (a doxie) is how he sleeps. He sleeps in between us, under the covers with his head peeking out above the covers and his head on the pillow (just like a human!). It kills us! Soooo cute! Another thing we find totally adorable is his jealousy. It is so strange but whenever my Fiance and I embrace, like a hug, he runs over to us no matter what he is doing and playfully barks. He wants to be apart of the hug. He really feels like he is part of our little “pack.”

I love all of these stories!  My dog prefers to sleep in the bed with his head on a pillow.  Every other dog I’ve had would never do such a thing and especially hated it when I would put the covers over them.  But Oliver just loves to lay there with his head on a pillow and a blanket over his body.  He’s too cute.  My parents old schipperke used to ignore us when she was mad.  If I would scold her or piss her off in any way, it was like she’d stay mad for a while.  If I came into a room she would leave.  If I picked her up and tried to look her in the eye then she would just turn her head and look in the opposite direction.  What was funny is that she did that to the other dog, too.  I don’t know, maybe that’s just something dogs do?  But it seemed very human-like 🙂

Oh my gosh, this thread is perfect. I am always calling my dog a little human, because she has such a personality and she does the craziest things. She has the most expressive face ever, and sometimes I can just watch her looking to get into trouble. She honestly gets this look on her face and you KNOW she is up to something. She is really vocal too, always sighing and snoring…total diva.

I used to have a cat that would pat my face if I was lying down… made me wonder who’s the human, and who’s the pet around here??

My furbaby gets an “Attitude” with me if I fuss at him or tell him’no’. he’ll go to his bed, that’s in the front room, and throw it and shake it around with his mouth. Just like a kid throwing a tantrum. It’s almost like…”this is what I’d do to you if I were brave enough to fight you.” lol He also tunrs his head and won’t look you in the eye if he’s in trouble. You can pick him up and try to look into his eyes, but he’ll avoid it.
