I tried Crossfit… but the group I attended was full of young male firefighters and cops… so, um, yah… this older soccer mom from the burbs just couldn’t keep up! It was also just after I had a baby so I would pee during box jumps. Yah… Not attractive at all. That said, I have never met a kinder, more supportive group of people. If I had been surrounded with a bunch of other women my age in a similar position weight wise, and ability-level wise, I can see why Crossfit can become addictive.
That said…a new YMCA has just opened near me and I tried a Barre class. Loved. Every. Second. You don’t have to be ‘good’. Everyone can do it or at least portions of it! 🙂

Weights. I started lifting in February and I absolutely love it.
And yoga of course!

Yup, another crossfit junkie here. It’s not cheap, but it’s life changing for me. If you think you would like it, I wouldn’t hesitate, just try it.

noleita : I also do BBG! I’ve been doing it since October 2015 and I still love it! I’ve gained muscles all over and I have so much more strength than I used to. It’s also great because you can do it at home. I have the PDF guides and definitely like them better than the app.

I’m a big fan of Beachbody’s programs. I’ve done a ton of them so I could easilt recommend a few, but the easiest thing for you to do would be to check out your options with one of their 30 day trials and see which program you like for yourself: https://www.beachbody.com/product/fitness_programs/online-workouts-videos.do
They make it easy to stay motivated and most of the workouts aren’t too long. They’re intense, but if you stick with them you’ll see results quicker than you’d expect.

There is not specific time for my workout but I have a gym in my home where I do most of the activites.

MsGinkgo : I love going to the gym, and I prefer doing it in the evenings. I would usually go right after getting home from work. I hold myself accountable so much better if I’m laying (even $10/month) for a gym and if it’s not at home. Having a baby totally threw that off because right now going to the gym after work is just not going to happen, so I have to keep on myself at home.

We usually go to the gym three times a week and do cardio

I do weightlifting and cardio, I bought the “thinner, leaner, stronger” ebook by Michael Matthews and seriously it has been the greatest investment I’ve done so far, it isn’t expensive at all and it gives you EVERYTHING you need to become your own personal trainer, how to diet, a routine, teach you proper form, etc.
There’s also a book for men if your fiancé is also looking to step up his game, so totally give them a look if you want.
Btw this is completely not sponsored hahaha it’s really that I LOVE the book.

I love workouts that incorporate dance as well. I had great results from Beachbody’s Brazil Butt lift. That comes with multiple workouts- my favorite being the dance one. And you def feel like you’re working out with that one. I think Shaun T’s dance DVD’s are great too. I am just now starting the Country Heat dance workout. It’s a low impact workout but you really do sweat it out. Love it so far.
