@likelimeade:  My fiancé will wear a classic one button tux, no vest, with a bow tie – think James bond or George clooney. I think this will look amazing, and he can wear tthe tux again if we ever go to a black tie event.

My fiance is wearing a slim 2-button tuxedo with satin peak lapels, a formal shirt with French cuffs and slim trousers. He has a black silk bow tie and an ivory silk pocket square and will have a bout pinned to the lapel.

We are purposefully keeping it very classic and chic.

The groomsmen are wearing the same, but we are going to have them wear a different colour bow tie or pocket square to differentiate.

We’re having a beach wedding so he might wear something more casual.

We almost did the classic black tux with yellow tie but our colors are yellow and navy. BM’s are wearing navy dresses and this is FI’s tux. Calvin Klien Legend in gray with yellow tie, no vest, and GM’s will wear the same with navy blue ties. But man I wish I could see Fiance walk down the aisle in that black tux and bowtie, that is not only classic and chic but I think it makes any guy look sexy (it just doesn’t go with our venue and “feel”)

@likelimeade:  Ahh, sorry likelimeade, but we’re in Australia and got his tux at a men’s formal store. The tux is by a New Zealand company called Cambridge Clothing. We tried Hugo Boss etc, but couldn’t find anything that was as good a fit as this one without having to do tons of alterations. We liked that this was a good, sharp fit.

If you’re concerned about all that colour on your fiance (I would be concerned too! lol), can he tone it down by wearing a black tux, white shirt, black tie and maybe a yellow pocket square and yellow floral bout pinned to the lapel?

That still gives him his bright pops of colour, but not so over the top. Otherwise a yellow vest and tie is a lot of yellow!

Fiance is active duty USAF, and as much as I loooove him in his dress blues, he’ll be wearing a classic black tux (with bow tie, very James Bond or George Clooney-esque, as a PP nicely put)!

He wore his uniform to our engagement party knowing that he probably wouldn’t be wearing it to the wedding. I am all for the sexy black tux!

@maggiemay0811:  It’s a great look, isn’t it! I was all wide-eyed when I saw him in it for the first time Embarassed

@Becs:  I think it’s perfect that your Fiance wore his uniform to your engagement party, but I agree, a sharp black tux for the wedding is so sexy!

If you want to show your Fiance what a black tux with yellow vest etc. can look like, that is what my Fiance wore to his HS prom hahaha. It looks a lot less yellow because of the camera flash (and was supposed to be gold) but that is probably not what your Fiance wants to look like on his wedding day!
