We danced to ingrid michaelsons "the way I am" we didn’t really have a "song" neither of us really dance and it was really short, cute lyrics and the first time I heard it was on grey’s anatomy which is my obsession!

- Wedding: April 2011 - in the woods
We haven’t decided on a date yet, but if it’s around Christmastime, our first dance will be to Mariah Carey’s "All I Want for Christmas is you" 🙂

We want to dance to Jack Johnson, so I suggested "better together" but he isn’t crazy about it. I found another Jack Johnson song "Angel" and we both liked that. We have about 10 months to decide yet!

Ours was ABBA "Take a Chance on Me." It was awesome.

This was a toughie for us because we didn’t want a slow song, but it couldn’t be too fast that we wouldn’t be able to dance to it. So Mr. C who is a huge Van Morrison fan suggested Jackie Wilson Said and I fell in love with it. We worked with a dance instructor to show us some simple moves and turns and it was definitely a crowd-pleaser and got people excited and pumped!

- Wedding: June 2008 - Winery in the Gold Country
Ours was "Only Hope" by Switchfoot
the lyric that struck me most from the song was
"I give you my apathy; I’m giving you all of me"
I think it rings true for our relationship. We tend to just not give a crap about a lot of things. But being in a relationship with my husband makes me feel less apathetic about what’s going on around me.

Our song happens to be an old one: "Try a Little Love" by Sam Cooke. My Fiance is a big Sam Cooke fan and this song really stuck during the first few months of our relationship

We are deciding between it had to be you the harry conick jr. version and the best is yet to come the michael buble version. We are going to take some dance lessons and we are looking forward to a jazzy and upbeat dance to set the tone for the evening

We’re going with Stand By Me. Originally by Ben E. King, I think we’re using the John Lennon version. It’s a little less ‘done’.

We just settled this issue (I think) this week! Our original plan was to dance to "Book of Love" by Magnetic Fields, which is his favorite band and a song we both love. But his parents weren’t that thrilled about the choice, and we understood where they were coming from – both the lyrics and Stephen Merritt’s voice can be a little inaccessible for people hearing the song for the first time.
It obviously wasn’t worth having Drama over the first song, so we switched it to "Falling Slowly" by the Swell Season (aka the Oscar-winning song from the movie Once). It was one of our favorite movies of last year and we saw the Swell Season twice in concert. I’m reallly excited!

- Wedding: February 2009 - Small church ceremony with mountain-view log cabin reception
there are sooo many good songs to choose from! We picked "Bless the broken road" by Rascal Flatts because it just fits us. Do you have a song that describes your relationship?!

We are both huge U2 fans, and the very first song my fiance ever sang to me was "All I Want Is You". 8 years later, it will be our first dance song! The lyrics are perfect!
I’d say find a song that means something to the both of you. Even if i isn’t something "traditional", finding a song that is "YOU" as a couple will make it so much more special.
