Butt, chin, & stomach. I don’t care if people know about the upper lip. Shoot, when I get it waxed at the salon, they announce it to everyone anyway! How embarrassing! But I’ve gotten over it.

@Sweet.Sugar.Rose: For the cost, it really varies from place to place.

I had my armpits done 5 years ago, it was 90$ for the first visits, and as the hair grew thinner, she charged me less. I was done after 8 visits. Now I have a few strays that I pluck when I plan to wear something sleeveless and that I otherwise leave alone.

I had my legs done 4 years ago, it was 250$ for the first visits and same deal, as the hair grew thinner, she charged me less. After 3 visits, it was summer and it is not advised to do laser in the summer because of the sun, so I stopped and planned to go back in the fall… Well at that time I has split from my longtime boyfriend and was living alone and no longer had the budget for it.  But even after those 3 visits only, I never had to shave my legs again. I have a few more strays than on my armpits, but they’re just little spots that I’ll shave every now and then.

Then, when I moved in with DH and had budget again, I decided to go for my brazilian. I didn’t want to go back to my previous lady for that though, since (completely randomly) I met her husband in the meantime and we all grew closer – not so close, but close enough that I didn’t want her in my lady parts. So I went to another place. They charged me 90$ per session, less than the other would have charged, but they didn’t diminish the price as the amount of hair diminished. I did all 8 treatments.  And it grew back more than I wish for. Still was worth it though, because I still have way less than before and it is a lot easier to wax and it always grows back really soft.

I suspect that the machine used by both place were of real different quality; and it’s kinda hard to know what to expect.

So, short answer: about 8 treatments, and the price varies but from my experience don’t pick the cheapest place cause you’ll get the cheapest results. all in all it was the best gift I ever made to myself – especially the armpits, since it never itches anymore AND it doesn’t look grey if I raise my arm. 🙂

I have PCOS (poly-cystic ovarian syndrome). Hair grows everywhere because of hormonal imbalance. At times I could be mistaken for SASQUATCH!!

@Mrs.KMM: I do to. I have been contemplately waxing them, but don’t know if it would look weird.

I would love to try the laser treatments…too bad they are so expensive!

If I shave my legs in the morning, they are like sandpaper by nighttime!  It is so gross!  The second I catch a chill and get goosebumps all my hair grows back.  It is so funny because sometimes I will rub my bare legs against my Fiance and he literally jumps in pain!

    Stupid hair.

@Sweet.Sugar.Rose: Well, the treatments were two months apart; I had to budget for them and save a little bit every week but even if cash was tight I never regretted it.

I have a witch hair that pops out every few weeks on my chin and around my areola. I pluck them out with a tweezer. I like my happy trail thats on my tummy.  I some light hairs on my knuckes but not to the point that it bothers me so I don’t shave them. To me the most uncomfortable part is butt hairs (lower part of the vag & between the cheeks) omg i hate those. I don’t mess with that more than a few times a year.

@penguinsaremyfriends: Yeah – I’m kind of afraid it would look weird to wax them too.  Sometimes I pluck them a bit just to thin them out (but I don’t even do that very often because it is kind of a pain).

I am a straight up hairy person… it runs in my family. My lower back and stomach is horrible but I gave up doing anything about it… I have to shave my big toe every now and then and I also have wolverine sideburns… most of the hairs are pretty fine so I don’t worry about them but every now and then I get these huge black ones by my jaw/ neck that I have to pluck away 🙁

@londongal: LOL this really made me laugh. My chin hair seems to come out of no where. One day i’ll just happen to pass my hand under my chin and there that sucker is…sometimes its like 1/2 inch or less. And I’ll swear it wasn’t there the day before.

@hopefloats: Agreed! I’m a big fan of threading.  Waxing always leaves my face red and blotchy but threading doesn’t!
