I’m finishing up my bachelor’s this coming May at a prestigious university. I already got a verbal offer for a job, now I’m just waiting for the paperwork to arrive. Job pays well too, and is bound to stay in business through the recession (big company). I don’t plan on going back to school, but would love to eventually start a career in life coaching. I’m young so I will work for a long time before I have kids and build capital. I would love to be a Stay-At-Home Mom but probably won’t be able to with my SO’s job, so coaching would be a great part-time substitute πŸ™‚

Congrats on the PhD! That was also my dream initially.

I’ve completed two years of college.  I do intend to go back to school once my life settles down to become a RN with a psychology degree.

@Nicoley1985: Same here!! I’m starting my 5th year (yikes) in a biomedical sciences PhD program with, hopefully if all goes well and the science gods are smiling kindly on me, one-ish more years to go.  Biomedical sciences PhD programs are soooo daunting, second only to physics or some other super hardcore 10-year-PhD programs, IMO. Best of luck to you!!

And best of luck to everyone working to finish up a degree!

Finished law school in 2005, worked at big firms until 2008, now have a more chill job at the University.  Best career choice I ever made.

I dropped out of my LLB (Bachelor of Laws) degree after a year for personal reasons but I didn’t really want to vote “High School Diploma” as a. I’ve completed a year of University and further studies since and b. I’m led to believe that the US high school diploma is awarded at a lower level than the final UK school exams (A levels, AS levels and Advanced Highers).

I’m now an executive PA in Government and generally very happy with where I’ve ended up.

I went to a big college straight after highschool, planning on getting my Bachelor’s, and I just wasn’t ready at all. So I came home and went to a community college, trying to figure out what I wanted to do.

I will finally be a nurse (LPN) when I graduate and take the boards in May, so I guess you could call that a professional degree. I plan on going on and advancing, maybe getting my NP.

Earned my BS in Human Biology in 2010, currently in first year of MD program. I’m taking my program a little more slowly though so I can maintain my wedding/FI/family as priorities… πŸ˜€

Any other future physicians out there?? πŸ™‚

I have a professional degree (apparently) – I didn’t know that existed before I read this post.

I have a Bachelor degree in Architectural Engineering and I’m licensed as a professional engineer.

Only a HS diploma. I wanted to go to college. I had my daughter at 17 and my son at 19. My SO and I are now raising our granddaughter and money is tight. Going back to school is not possible.
