Good evening ladies! I just thought I would start a discussion to maybe possibly get our minds off the waiting! What would be your ideal season to get married?
I’ve always wanted to get married in the fall like September or October, but now seeing as how the engagement may not happen until the middle part of 2019, I’m thinking it will be sooner.
I am a teacher so the ideal season would be June or July where I wouldn’t have to take off work for things like the honeymoon and all. However, I’m also not opposed to March because the weather is so nice and we could honeymoon over Spring Break. Plus… I am already waiting and I dont want to wait until June or July 2020 haha.
Bonus question: Where would you like to go on your honeymoon?

I always wanted to do it in the winter but my future fiancé is from Ireland and the guests will be comprised of 80-90 percent his family, so we are doing it over there (we live in the states.) They don’t really get snow but the roads are primitive most places and they have issues with ice sometimes so he’s expressed winter might not work. Sucks cause I still wanted to squeeze in a wedding in 2020 if we get engaged no later than June of this year! We’ll see! 😊
ETA: honeymoon will be somewhere in Europe cause we’ll already be there lol. Maybe Italy? Not sure! I’m more of a museum/restaurant/shops kind of gal than beaches and stuff so that’ll be a factor.

I’m already married, but my ideal season was fall, and that’s what I picked. However, I live in Mississippi, so weather doesn’t cool off until much later in the season. We got married the Saturday before Thanksgiving. I’m also a teacher, so I had a week off for the holiday, and my husband got 3 days off that week, so it made sense for us. We honeymooned at an all-inclusive in Jamaica for a week. It was perfect to be able to lounge around and relax after all the planning and running around for the wedding. Summer was the only season I refused to get married in though regardless of the convenience. It is way too hot here.

I am already married but we had our wedding during my ideal season, mid-summer as we wanted an outdoor daytime ceremony. If we ever planned an elaborate vow renewal, my second choice would be mid-winter in a (short) outdoor snowy ceremony!
There are so many places which would be ideal for a honeymoon, but we chose Hawaii.

bowlingallie1989 : A wedding in Ireland would be absolutely beautiful! Italy sounds like a very romantic honeymoon. I hope you get your engagement soon!

We got married in August, we live in the PNW so we only get a couple of months without the rain and wanted to do an outdoor ceremony.
I really like the idea of having a nighttime ceremony at some sort of venue that over looks our city since it looks so pretty at night though, all lit up, which can only happen in the fall/winter so if we ever renewed vows or something I’d do that.
We spent a couple weeks in Europe and close to a week in Mexico a couple months before getting married so we went to New Orleans for a honeymoon which was a blast.

FutureMrsBex : It is a small world! I am also from Mississippi. When we’ve talked about possible months to get married in, he is the one that mentioned the summer so I wouldn’t have to take off. I told him that when his best friend got married in March, they were complaining about being hot then. I told him just imagine being in a tux in June in the MS heat.
I’ve looked at the all inclusive places like that, but right now I’m looking at Orlando. I’ve never been to Disney, but I think we would skip that. There’s a place down there where you can swim with the dolphins and then get free admission to Sea World through a package price. We will just see when that time comes!

My ideal wedding would have been in the fall, Novermber-ish. Aside from Christmas, its it’s my favorite time of the year! But my for my actual wedding we had to factor in hurricane season, when school was still in, and my husbands vacation time. So May it was lol we got married inMexico, and stayed there for the honeymoon as well. I would have loved to gone to Turks and Caicos. Its top on my list!

courtney487 : Spring or fall because of the temperature.
Summer = hot and sweaty
Winter = wear a jacket over your dresses.
But i suppose it depends where you live.

courtney487 : I’m expecting an proposal sometime this year. I asked for my boyfriend get dads blessing by birthday in April, so hopefully May 2021. Honeymoon is Walt Disney World when Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge is open.

I’ve always wanted a spring wedding. Thankfully my fiancé doesn’t care when we do it, so I picked early May since we’re in Virginia. I don’t want it to be too warm and that seems to be the best fit.

courtney487 : thank you, and same to you! It helps to discuss positive stuff while waiting, some of the stuff I’ve seen on the waiting board is brutal haha.

princessg56 : I’ve talked with a Disney planner and got some pricing plans just to get an idea. It just seems more logical that if we go to Orlando that we stay off property for our budget. I hope you enjoy the Star Wars exhibit though!
