so, in about 3 hours we’re having our final meeting over at our venue. We are suppose to hand in our list of all the ceremony music & any specific songs for the reception. We STILL do not have it all, I’m still unsure. I wanted something rockeresk for my walk, but for it to still fit the occasion. And, we still don’t hve our entrance to reception.
Wanted to see yalls untraditional music, maybe give me some inspiration in the next couple hours! ( yikes 😱😆 )

I’m jumping the gun as I’m still a waiting bee lol but I plan on surrising him by walking to django reinhardt’s version of “Beyond the Sea”. It’s a slow version played on violin with no lyrics that has a very old almost creepy feel. It’s one his favorite songs and very beautiful so I think it will make him very happy 🙂

My husband is from Glasgow so we got married there. We had a bagpiper play me down the aisle.
If we hadn’t done that, I would have goen with an instrumental verison of “In Your Eyes” by Peter Gabriel.

While we have to have good old Catholic-approved music, my best friend walked down to “Falling Slowly” by The Swell Season (and from the movie Once). It was gorgeous. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzQ9VrnNQLQ
I’ve also head of people doing “And the Winner Is” from Little Miss Sunshine, which I love.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSKCaSkrQdk
Or Hoppipolla by Sigur Ros https://vimeo.com/3986821 . So beautiful.

Do you want everyone to cry? Then play “i choose you” by Sara Bareilles. I played “over the rainbow” by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole first for my wedding party and groom, then i played Sara’s song for myself. It was the bomb!

For the wedding party walking down the aisle we had Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring. Then, for me and my dad, we had Canon in D. All live piano by a friend of ours. Don’t know how non-traditional that is, but that’s what we had, and I don’t think I’ve ever heard of anyone else playing Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring for the majority of the aisle walk before.

We are having “The Piano Guys” music played while guest enter. Included is a Lord of the Rings movie soundtrack, two harry potter soundtracks, my bridal party is walking in to Christina Perri – A Thousand Years. I am still deciding if I will also use that song or go in to “Ultimate – from Freaky Friday 2003”. Groom and I will exit ceremony to theme song from firefly. All our musical is instrumental only though 🙂

We’re only allowed to have church music during the ceremony but our first dance is to Phil Collins’ cover of “Groovy Kind of Love” which I think no one will expect since it’s so 80’s cheesy lol. But the words make me cry and I think we do have a pretty groovy kind of love.

The instrumental version of Your Song by Elton John from the Moulin Rouge soundtrack. Loved it!
