I used Beethoven’s 5 secrets by the piano guys for our whole entrance. It’s an instrumental mash-up of One Republic’s Secrets and Beethoven’s 5th symphony. Not exactly the most sentimental lyrics but it was instrumental and non traditional but still beautiful, it made me tear up the first time I heard it and I knew it was perfect.

Hozier “Work Song” sang by my two female cousins and piano added by my cousin in law, his friend (also our friend) playing acoustic guitar. And also a piano version of a song from Megaman while people are being seated, because my Fiance loves video games. My cousin walked down the aisle to a gorgeous acoustic version of Miley Cyrus “We Can’t Stop” and no one could tell what it was. But she loved it because it was a goofy song and it would keep her from getting nervous or crying.

futureMrsHidalgo:  we did a Vitamin String Quartet cover of a song by The Used.  It was awesome.  Sounded really traditional but was something meaningful to Darling Husband and I.

My wedding party is walking up to the piano version of A Thousand Years (Christian Perri).  I am walking up the the piano/cello version of This Love (Taylor Swift). Although the words will not be in the version I am using, the lyrics to This Love are 100% our relationship.

We are leaning very heavily toward Storybook Love by Mark Knopfler off The Princess Bride soundtrack, particularly the section 1 minute into the song. It sounds really pretty.

paintitblackcat9:  Me. Too. I went to see the (traveling) Broadway production of Once over the summer and cried through the whole thing. SO good.

We used Badly Drawn Boy’s I love NYE for ours.  We didn’t have a wedding party, and it worked for our parents, then my groom, then our ring bearer and flower girl – then the music kind of swells and gets more dramatic and that’s when I came in.  It worked perfectly for us!

We recessed after the ceremony to Wilco’s I Got You (At the end of the Century) – and I wish it had been LOUDER because in my dreams of what my ceremony would be like, it was the real Wilco playing a live version at the venue.  Sadly that didn’t fit our budget, and we had to make do with the DJ speakers.  🙂

We entered the reception and were announced to the Alabama Shakes’ I Found You.

I walked down the aisle to “Higher Love” by James Vincent McMorrow.  It was absolutely beautiful.

We used Acoustic Guitar Guy’s cover of Journey’s “Faithfully” for our processional. For the recessional, we used Queen’s “You’re My Best Friend” 🙂
