Hi everyone, what’s your opinion of this locket as a gift to my bridesmaids? Blue Nile is having a 20% off sale and it’s a very well rated item of theirs. The bridesmaids wouldn’t be wearing it for the ceremony, it’d just be for their own use. I like that it’s well rated and classicly beautiful, but at the same time I wonder if it’s a creative enough gift? I LOVE necklaces and would like a locket like this for myself, but maybe lockets aren’t that great of an idea? Or a heart locket is something that should only come from your love?

I personally wouldn’t ever wear a locket (or any heart shaped jewelry for that matter), but that’s just me. If you think they’ll like it go for it, but generally jewelry is tough to buy for others. If you don’t expect them to wear it at the wedding, I’d go with something else personally.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, it was a bit outside of what I wanted to spend for the 2nd part of the gift anyway 🙂

I think a locket would be an appropriate and lovely gift, say for Valentine’s Day from your partner. But not as a bridesmaid gift from a friend.
If you want to give your bridesmaids jewelry, how about earrings? Try Etsy for pretty and inexpensive ones. Most women I know who have pierced ears love getting earrings. Maybe you could get different ones for each bridesmaid depending on her style? I’m sure that would be a gift they’d appreciate, especially if it was obvious you’d thought about each woman’s particular style.

I personally haven’t liked lockets since I was a little girl. Not really my taste but a sweet thought and only you really know your friends styles so maybe they would like it?

Have you felt out your bridesmaids? Do they like necklaces? Do they like lockets? Do they like silver jewelry?
