OMG! I have watched very closely everyday! I think she did it, whether all the evidence has come out yet or not. And seriously the defense tried to say she was incompetent to stand trial!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? Of course she is competent. I think she did it. She knows she did it, but wants to continue lying. It sickens me to see her cry. I think she should have been forced to look at the pictures of their remains and look at wahs she did. My fiance and I always have our own comentary for her when we see her cry or say something. You know the usual “should I cry right now or not look at the pictures? will the jury feel bad for me if I do that?” I cannot stand her! I am not a mother but even still I cannot wrap my head around the idea of lying (no matter what really happened) and partying and getting tattoos for 31 days! Who does this? I would freak out. I would be hysterical all day every day. Yet all her friends said she was just fine. I don’t think she will get the death penalty, but she deserves it. I think she will end up getting life. It’s unfortunate. We have to pay for her defense and we will pay to keep her alive the rest of her life.

She’s a sociopath, and I absolutely think she’s guilty.

Sociopaths are narcissistic and exhibitionistic, with no sense of shame. Nothing exists in their world but what they want – the ultimate “Me, Me, Me” syndrome. They are characterized by an excessive superficiality, in both thoughts and behaviors. They are easily bored and made restless by day-to-day responsibilities, an attitude which makes consistent parenting a drag and an impossibility. Sociopaths create their own reality, and in this instance, Casey’s world did not include her daughter.

A sociopath always views his or her problems as stemming from flaws in others, rather than taking responsibility for his or her own issues and the havoc they have created. And she’s thrown her family under the bus, with the accusations of sexual abuse (which I don’t believe for a second). She’s a pathological liar and doesn’t care who she hurts.

ETA: I think I’m personally glued to this trial because I’m struggling to understand her complete pathological coldness. From the getgo. It’s something I’ve never really seen in anyone else. It’s a real shame that she ends up getting nonstop coverage – it’s just what she wants and she is winning whether she is convicted or not. Her crime is unimportant to her. As long as she is in the spotlight, she is satisfied. Think how devastated she would be if the media circus went away. Might just be what’s needed to elicit a confession.

@borowske: The defense is getting desperate.  They know it’s not going well and are grasping at straws now.  A mistrial is the best they can hope for.  If they get her declared incompetent to stand trial and assist in her own defense, the trial gets put on hold until her competency is restored.  As the jury is sequestered, you can’t keep them cooped up indefinitely, so most likely outcome would be a mistrial.

I bet Casey is chomping at the bit to get on the stand – probably still believes she can lie her way out of this.  The only smart thing her lawyers may be doing is trying to talk her out of it, though ultimately it’s her decision.

@ohheavenlyday: Hadn’t heard/read that, but it definitely makes sense!  When defense said they’d rest by mid-week, I figured that meant no way Casey was testifying.  That will be must-see TV if she gets up there and tells the “real” story.  Her lies know no bounds.

@ohheavenlyday: Do you really think she will take the stand? I hadn’t heard that was reason the “legal matter” that came up, but sometimes I fastforward through all the others talking so I can get back to the trial inside the court. All I knew was that the court had her evaluated and she is competent. But I was mad and on edge when I was watching to see the outcome. I didn’t believe for a minute she was incompetent, but you never know what others are thinking. I don’t think she will get on the stand. I wish she would. OH I could see Ashton now……he gets so pissed of at defense witnesses he would rip her a new one! I know I know probably shouldn’t get my hopes up. As I said I don’t think she would take the stand, but it would be awesome!
