It’s getting so close now!

I have an exercise schedule that I’m trying to stick to, teeth whitening with crest strips, at home facial scrub/peel every 2 weeks, getting manicures every 2-3 weeks to keep nails nice… I like the extra lotion and extra water idea!  I’m also going to try out a spray tan to see if I like it before I possibly get it done before the wedding.

I’m going to cut out most carbs about 1 1/2 months before the wedding.  I can’t maintain that for too long and that’s enough time for me to see a difference.

Hmm… what else am I missing?  🙂

Only 36 days to go for me! I’ve been using Crest Vivid Whitestrips (I highly recommend them) religiously. I also have been making sure to wash my face twice a day with my Aveeno daily face wash and my Olay Pro X tool, and then putting some avon lotion on afterwards. Hair wise, I have been using Moroccan oil (which I bought from Walmart for $5) in my hair, it’s FAB!

I’ve been drinking lots of extra water, too! I may head to get a spray tan within the next week or two to decide if I want to get it done for the wedding. My bikini tan from South Florida (from living there 3 years ago) is finally gone, so I don’t have to worry about a weird tan line.

On may 1st (two days before the wedding), I’m going to go get my hair trimmed and some gel acrylics put on as well as a pedicure. Unfortunately I work in the restaurant business and can’t wear fake nails, nail polish, or anything. And as a nail biter, there’s really no hope for me at this point, haha.

I plan on whitening my teeth with Crest Strips as well, but won’t start until after the next time I go to the dentist for a cleaning.

I also have combination skin with mild rosacea and acne; this is what I’ve been doing.

Cleanser: Purpose Face Wash   I wash with my hands in the morning, my Clarisonic with acne brush at night.

Toner: I don’t use one; I’ve thought about getting the Rare Earth Toner from Kiehl’s.

Moisturizer: Cereve Moisturizing Lotion (FWIW, Reddit’s skincare addiction swears by the cream in a tub).  If I have dry spots I use a tiny amount of Dr. Hauschka’s Rose Day Cream.

Face Mask: I typically try to do the Lush BB Seaweed fresh face mask once a week, typically Saturday evening.  It’s really gentle and feels/smells amazing.

Night Treatment: I mix a pea-sized dot of Tazorac (a prescription retinoid for acne/hyperpigmentation) in with my moisturizer at night.

Spot Treatment: I use a tiny amount of Duac (a prescription mix of benzoyl peroxide and an antibiotic) only when I have a pimple, once or twice a day.

Sunscreen: Shiseido’s Urban Environment SPF 35 (they only make a 40 SPF cream one now; I don’t think it absorbs as well as the 35).  Most chemical sunblocks are too harsh for my skin or smell weird to me, this one is nice but once I run out I’m going to have to find another good physical sunblock.

I’d like to find a good eye cream that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.  I think I might also switch to using Clinique’s Redness Solutions cream during the day when I’m feeling dry.

Oooh very cool thread! I’ve been wondering about these same things myself.

I got a facial a couple of months ago for the first time ever. I think I kind of expected to have the clearest, brightest softest skin for months. Instead I noticed a difference in texture for like a day or two, and that’s about it. Super anti-climatic.

Now I have no clue what to do before the wedding, except to eat clean. But I’m always a nut for that. Drink more water maybe? Vitamin E lotion/oil after every shower?

I’m bumping this thread because I’d like to hear more ideas! my face gets flaky and doesn’t hold makeup well, so I’d like to get a good system down to be ready for the wedding!

I’m 5 months out and this is my plan.

  • Continue with my Retin A Micro treatment (this seriously makes your skin FLAWLESS and fine line free) but I don’t recommend if you have less than a month to get used to it.
  • Drink TONS of water starting 30 days prior (more than usual intake)
  • Get plenty of sleep 1-2 weeks before.   This needs to be a priority
  • Use the night time moisturizers (eye and face creams) liberally.
  • Exfoliate but not every day – too harsh on your skin and it doesn’t need it.
  • Get your Omegas 2 months out – Start eating salmon and avocados whenever you can

You should be glowing with that list.

Okay, for facial care ive been using cocoa butters skincare facial scrub (the one with micro beads) at night and sometimes in the morning to wake up. Ive been using the nightly moisturising cream (in the tub) as a night cream and its amazing.

Ive been using over the counter teeth whitening oroducts for about two months, and theres definitely a difference, but they take time so dont bother if you like a month out.

Then for daytime ive been using greens simple moisturizer with SPF because i have dry skin easily. Ive also been taking zinc tablets every evening, and am going to start with omega threes in the coming weeks.

for hair i was using schwarscoff argon oil spray, but its given me bad dandruff so ive stopped and am opting to try out a home hair mask of coconut butter, honey and peppermint essence. Tis does WONDERS for dry hair. Speaking of hair i am getting permanent extensions put in in the coming weeks, as i made the mistake of chopping it all off 6months ago, and now want it back LOL. Ive stopped dying my hair, and am just having one last dye job about 3 weeks out to rectify any regrowth issues (i just went from bleach blonde to my natural brunette, and the brunette colour is too light for my natural hair).

ive been using vitamin E moitrutizer on my hands and after shaving my legs etc to keeo my skin hydrated, and i work with alot of chemicals that dry my skin, so ive been trying to grow my nails and get back my damaged skin, but i think this will happen alot in the three weeks ive taken off before the big day.

my wedding is barefoot so ive booked a mani pedi for a week out of the wedding as well as a full wax, and a facial scrub just incase.

im making sure i drink heaps of water, and have switched to filtered only. ive made sure immgetting atleast 8 hours of sleep, and i average about 9 to make sure.

once a week i take a day with no makeup whatsoever to let my skin breathe, and am skipping carbs starting 10weeks out from the wedding (next week).

ive been on and off with an excersise routine, but have been doing HIIT training and weights and will continue until the big day, and possibly add yoga if theres time.

PHEW! The things we do for this day huh?

Clarisonic to wash face, body scrub 2-3x/wk, tanning lotion (not self-tanner but gradual glow kinda lotions), eating paleo as much as possible (not just for wedding), personal trainer 1x/wk, boot camp 1x/wk, upping gym sessions in general, getting my hair cut and highlighted three weeks before the wedding (three weeks is the sweet point for my hair!).

MrsFitness – I’m looking to add some HIIT to my training now that I’m six weeks away, just to ramp things up… what kind do you do?
