This was interesting to really look at.  I also counted individual items and had about 204 total

under $25   – 119  (includes individual glassware)

$25 – $50 – 49  ( think my flatware and place settings are in this group)

$50 – 100 – 22

$100 – $200 – 8

$200+  – 6  (includes our big pots/pans set, big knife set, a vacuum, and a couple of pieces of furniture we don’t expect to get!)

187 items

Under 25- 117

25-50- 55

50-100- 12

100+ – 3 (food processor, knives, dutch oven)

A lot of our guests are either in college or just out so it’s a nice distribution for them.

I have about 65 items, but I also have a wish registry (www.uponourstar.com) for some big ticket items and people can give amounts toward it- so it is a little different.  I also have a B&M one with things from 2.50 (my orange peeler!) to 199.00!

Interesting stats, ladies!  We’ve registered for 109 items, but looking at how much the rest of you have I feel like we may need more…

Under $15:  45

$15-$30:  30

$30.01-$50:  17

$50.01-$100:  10

$100.01+:  7

@abbyful: i love that you posted this topic! i have often wondered why there were all these suggestions about the number of items you should have based on how many guests you were having, but that seems silly because it doesn’t take into account the prices of the items. i thought someone would have come up with a formula, based on the number of wedding guests, number of shower guests, plate cost, and whether your guests were mostly cash gifters or boxed gift givers. based on those, i feel like something should be able to recommend the number of gifts you should aim to register for in each price bracket. i’d also be curious about the total $ that people registered for and the number of invited guests. i’ll have to see if i can tally up things in each price bracket later today.

We have three registries total and have invited 368 guests (hence the large number of items). Here’s the breakdown:

<$25:            116

$26 – $50:     100

$51 – $100: 71

$101 – $150:   2

84 items from many different stores (there are some multiples in there for towels/sheets/glasses, but I can’t bothered to count the actual number of gifts, haha). Our guest list is around 160.

Under $25: 47

$26 – $50 (most popular price range for the bridal shower): 21

$51 – $100: 6

$101 – $150: 6 (this is maily luxury cookware/knives and bedding)

> $150: 4

The most expensive item is an IKEA dining table for $300. The second most expensive item, a sewing maching, was purchased by my mother for the shower.

It’s not on the registry, but I am secretly hoping someone will buy us a Dyson. 😛
