My engagement ring is a 1.3 ct marquise. My wedding band is a diamond band. When I am not comfortable wearing that set (which is not often) I wear a simple gold band with my “promise” ring. Yes…I actually have a promise ring which is a .65 diamond solitaire. My then Boyfriend or Best Friend (now husband) wanted to move in together but I wanted more of a commitment so he “proposed” with the promise ring. I was in no hurry to get married, but wanted to know it was an option, if that makes sense. So, to answer your question, I wear the smaler diamond and plain band when I need something more simple and understated. PS I am older – in my early 50’s.

I just wear either my claddagh or my clogau Tree of Life ring for the gym, hiking etc. If I go overseas on a trip I wear I have a sterling moissanite set that I put on for the duration.

Ring I picked out is huge so I’ve been thinking of this myself. I’m thinking of getting a simple pave band. I mostly spin and do cardio. I think if I was kickboxing or using my hands I would just not wear a ring. That’s just me though.

I go ringless plenty, but I have to send my ring in to get checked and cleaned and it’s like a 3-4 week process so I start to miss my rings. I have a qalo band, but I just purchased the new Unicorn band by Enso. So excited! I also start physical therapy school in August and there will be plenty of times when I won’t want to wear my diamond set

We got a cz ring on sale at sears for $34. Call it my place holder ring. It’s still big and blingy like I like but I won’t be heartbroken if anything happens to it and anyone that steals it isn’t going to get anything from it so jokes on them.
My real ring (whicj I can’t wear yet as I’m not going to get it sized until I lose baby weight)

If it’s just a gym trip, i leave my expensive jewelry home. If I’m traveling (these days), I wear one diamond wedding band (no ering, no stack). I leave it with my other real jewelry in the hotel safe for hiking/ other excursions.

My e-ring is fairly blingy (~3.5 ct antique diamond in a halo). I do travel a lot on business including to countries where the cultural norm is either plain gold bands or much smaller diamonds. I wear a much smaller and more modest diamond ring in those instances as I don’t want my taste in jewelry to reflect poorly on my employer.
But I don’t bother with a stand-in when traveling otherwise, on vacation, at the gym, etc.

my cz and 10k rose gold stand in set. My real set is yellow gold and quite intricate so I love the simple design of this one.
