Darling Husband is away for 2 weeks. This is the longest we’ve been apart since 2008 (before that he would go home for summers to work and we’d only see each other on weekends every other week). It’s going to be weird to be apart for that long.
I’m not sure what to do with myself. Normally I binge on Chinese food (Which he hates) and Netflix movies and shows he doesn’t want to watch. This time there will be no Chinese food, doesn’t fit into our healthy eating lifestyle.
I still plan on watching a lot of Netflix though.
What do you do when your SO is away? Is there anything that you look forward to doing when you have the place to yourself for a few days? What would you do with 2 whole weeks?

Fart openly without a care 🙂
Also binge watching trashy TV shows, and reading a book in a silent house. A couple of long soaks in the bath. The last 2 times he’s been out I’ve also practiced my wedding make-up in peace.

The usual “junk food and trash tv” thing. He has to travel for work a few times per year, usually a week at a time- I don’t indulge the entire time, but the first night he leaves is usually a take out and reality tv binge, haha.

MsGinkgo: Eating subway (mainly because there’s one really close and I don’t like cooking dinner after a long day) and staying up late watching netflix lol. Not too bad…
My Darling Husband work has taken him away a couple times, beisdes what I mentioned above I don’t really do anything differently. Maybe make some plans with friends.

Fiance has been on night shift for a few weeks so lately I’ve been watching glee on Netflix. A show he would never watch with me. That’s about the only thing I do when he’s not around. I like to go to hobby lobby and tj max without him but I usually just leave him home when he is around. So it’s not something I have to wait for him to be out of town for.

MsGinkgo: Darling Husband is leaving for the weekend, so I was just thinking about this (I can’t imagine 2 weeks! The only time we went longer than a week was when we first started dating 6 years ago).
My weekend will probably consist of catching up on trashy T.V., binge watching Gilmore girls at night when I can’t sleep, going shopping for our upcoming trip to Thailand.
If I was feeling really into it, I’d get some bad fast food and/or take out. Unfortunatlely I’ll be 10 weeks pregnant, and that doesn’t sound appealing.
Other things I do when Darling Husband is away: have conversations with our cats, clean up my mess quickly right before he comes home

I’m the one who travels a lot in our household. My Fiance hasn’t had to travel in a year. And he works from home. I’m dying for a secret single behavior weekend!!! I love to scrutinize my pores in the bathroom mirror for ages and walk around the house in my underwear without someone coming to check on me, or making comments about my booty!
Enjoy your secret lady time a little extra for me!

I watch wedding tv shows and horror movies that I otherwise wouldn’t get to watch since he hates them lol.
I get lazy with dinner, I hate cooking for just one person.
I muck around with my hair and make up and take pics for him.

Funny timing; my husband is going out of town this weekend, just for a couple of nights. I’m already browsing pizza delivery menus and Ben & Jerry’s flavours. 😉

I do face masks and give myself mani/pedis while binge watching Downton Abbey. 🙂

I usually read a good book, and watch “say yes to the dress” which he hates to watch when he’s here. We’re engaged and don’t live together yet; so I’ve gotten alittle used to watching my lifetime, WE tv and TLC shows. When he’s here the only thing we watch is sports and crime shows. LOL!

Darling Husband is currently on a short term (2 month) deployment so I’ve been practicing ALL my lazy “single” habits.
-Pasta/italian and pizza at least once a week each since he’s constantly the healthy carb police
-SO MUCH reality tv. I litterally sat on the sofa surrounded by laundry I was supposed to be folding and watched 5 hours straight of Untold Stories of the ER on TLC saturday night. No way could I do that with Darling Husband home, it was great. My DVR is also full of Teen Mom 2 and and all the new trshy stuff on TLC and I haven’t watched a sigle minute of basketball or soccer since he left, I’m loving it!
-I have dessert every night, I even bought a whole frozen cheese cake and thaw it out one slice at a time. so satisfying. (and I’ve actually lost weight while he’s been gone!)
-Shopping/decorating. Darling Husband hates when I bring more “stuff” in the house, he would be content with a mattress on the floor and living out of a suitcase in a white walled studio if he could. Since he’s been gone I’ve taken the opportunity to replace all the old mismatched stuff in the house and decorate to the 9’s. He would go ballistic if he saw the Target hauls I’ve come home with the past few weeks. He’s not going to recognize our living room but it looks AWESOME lol
-Cleaning/clutter. He hates clutter and hates when I leave dishes and stuff out for days/weeks so with him gone I’m free to leave my coffee cup on the table for as long as I want! I let it get to the point where it gets on my nerves and then I do a deep clean. I don’t let it get to embarrassing levels but it’s so nice just being able to drop stuff wherever I please and being able to pick it up on my own time and terms.
As much as I love being able to indulge in all my terrible habits I cannot wait to have him home, I actually miss his chirping at me about being cleaner and healthier because I know he’s trying to make me a better person. I’ll give up reality tv to snuggle on a (laundry free) sofa and watch sports in a heartbeat if I thought it could bring him home sooner!

Sleep in the middle of the bed. Eat sushi and cook food he isnt a fan of, mainly seafood, enjoy my cocktail while I lay in the tub soaking. I also will hit the salon and walk dowtown for dinner out if he is gone for more than a few days.

rendezvous89: before the wedding I used to try on my wedding dress any time he was away and prance around in my veil.
ADiamondInTheRough: I’m feeling pretty lost about the 2 weeks thing. Usually it’s not more than a week, this seems like forever. I’m pretty independent and we do stuff on our own, but going home to an empty apartment just feels lonely.
mandaluv1119: OOOH! Downton Abby, a show I’ve been meaning to start watching – perfect timing, thanks for reminding me

- Wedding: May 2015 - Walnut Hill Bed & Breakfast
No idea what I would do for a whole 2 weeks! But he is usually away Monday and Friday evenings. Mondays I get the garabage ready… do a load of laudry… paint my nails… and watch tv. Friday is usually similar with laundry… nail painting.. and tv. I usually have weird/lazy dinner like popcorn or a smoothie – things I love but that he’d call a “snack” so i rarely get to eat them.
