I’ve tried quite a few different brands. The ones that stand out to me are: Nivea, Simple (no harsh chemicals or perfumes), and Aveeno.

I’m trying to get into a better regime. I’m 29 as well and trying to prevent rather than fix down the road. I just use a mild cleanser in the morning, then SPF moisturizer under my makeup. At night, I use a cleansing cloth, a cleansing lotion (which doesn’t seem to dry my skin out as much as a regular cleanser), toner and night cream. I’m also using an eye roller, but it doesn’t seem to be doing much, so I’m looking into alternatives. I’ve been really bad about not using a moisturizer or makeup with SPF every day, so I’ve just switched. Sun damage is a big cause of wrinkles. No thank you!

But one thing that no one has really mentioned yet, is making sure that you are also preventing aging from the inside out. I’m sure you’ve heard it all before, but drinking lots of water, eating foods rich in anti-oxidants (blueberries, green tea…), dark leafy greens, and foods rich in lycopene (think tomatoes). Apparently, eating water cress is supposed to be amazing for the skin (although I have a hard time finding it in the produce section at my grocery store). I started drinking green smoothies (fruit smoothies with spinach or kale in them) every morning and noticed a difference with my overall health, but also in my skin. Just some ideas!

OP, I have tried a lot for my skin.  I have dark circles and early wrinkles, plus some texture problems.  I started at the drug store and was unimpressed.  I was a big Elizabeth Arden user, but kind of felt meh about it after time went on.  Then I switched to Caudalie and I really wanted to be into it but alas it didnt work for me.  Then I got samples of Amorepacific products and became hooked.  Its quite pricey but I have never seen my skin like this ever.

I use Olay ProX brush with regenerist cleanser, followed with amorepacific rejuvenating serum, eye cream, and moistruizer.  I do this every night.  One-two times a week I will use an exfoliating mask.

Good Luck!

To answer your thread title… Until a few days ago, nothing 😉 I didn’t even wash my face other than water in the shower! I started moisturising more regularly (with a cheap’n cheerful Nivea face/body/hand all in one which is so soothing & is on a small tube so I can throw it in my bag) in January after my makeup trial, then this weekend I decided I better put a little more effort in even if there’s only two weeks to the wedding so I’ve been using Lush’s “Angels on Bare Skin” cleanser, one of their toners & the same moisturiser. I’m probably imagining it  but I swear it’s made a difference!

mrsalexander:  I’m almost 29 and have been experimenting with things to brighten, tighten, dewrinkle, erase scars, and get the crap out of my pores since…my whole life. But most seriously since I got engaged (so I’ve been experimenting for almost an entire year already).

This is what I have found works and would totally recommend trying:

1) Ren Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask (sephora) – It will get rid of your dead skin and brighten your complexion. It will also help your skin produce more collegen so your wrinkles/lines are less noticable. It also helps smooth out that grounchy/thinking forehead crease that happens between my brows. LOVE THIS. and it lasts forever.

2)  Rhassoul Clay (google and order online) – I prefer this used as a mask. Mix with water, let dry and rinse off with hot water and a face cloth. It will tighten your skin (byebye winkles!) and deep cleanse your pores. Best used after exfoliating with the Ren mask. You can google the millions of benefits this clay has…and it’s also EXTREMELY cheap (a $10 thing of it lasted me about a year).

3) Clinique 3 step system (you can get it at Sephora) – I literally love it. I’ve never loved a cleanser, toner, or mositurizer so much in my life! Get whatever the Clinique people recommend for your skin. I can’t live without the toner (I went on vacation and didn’t bring it and my skin was duller right away). BEST STUFF EVER.

4) Clinique RepairWare Laser Focus (Smooths, Restores, Corrects) – I’m not even joking when I say, this is changing my life. I had a 2 week sample and never looked back – It’s doing everything it says it will do: smooth, restore (life back into my skin) and it’s helping to fade acne scars.

**I also use the Clinique RepairWare Laser Focus UV and Wrinkle damage that I use on top of the other repairware. I dont think it’s necessary – it’s a nice to have. (I’ve used it alone and didn’t notice much difference, especially compared to the other one)

5) Clinique Moisture Surge Eye Cleam (in the cream, NOT gel) – I’ve been battling the under eye puff and used to use ice to help — yes, literally icecubes to make the swelling go down. After I started using the Moisture Surge, it took approx 1 day for a massive difference to happen, there is NO puffiness, ever. I’d say it’s too good to be true, except I see my face in the mirror every day.

I hope this helps! <br /><br />The biggest thing I’ve learned is that you get what you pay for. Some drugstore brand eye creams can make everything WORSE (for example).

I’m going to be turning 34 this year, so I’m starting to look into eye treatments.  I currently use Philosophy’s Purity face wash with a Clarisonic morning and night.  After washing in the morning, I moisturize with Philosophy’s Hope In A Bottle (unfortunately being discontinued), and then use Skin79’s orange bottle BB cream with SPF 50 in it.  At night, I use the same moisturizer but I also mix it with a dab of Philosophy’s Hope In A Jar night cream that has alpha hydroxy acid in it.

Are those products performing miracles on my skin? Not really, but they do a nice job maintaining it. I also have oily skin and chubbier cheeks, so I attribute those to my “youthful” appearance.

Regime? HA HA pretty funny. I wash my face in the evening with Dove body wash, and I slather on either Equate or Aldi’s brand face cream. I use sunscreen when I am going to be in the sun. Sometimes, I do the mint julep mask or the apricot scrub, but not with any regularity. I think good genes has a lot to do with it, because I am 42 and I sometimes get carded at bars. LOL I do drink lots of water, though.

i use Arbonne, i use the calm line but i know the RE9 collection is really good for those problems too, its great and i love it. its all natural too which i love, my face has never looked better! its on the expensive side, but you definitely get what you pay for, at first i was unsure because my face broke out but a week or so later it changed and got better, the cleansers were just working all the crap out of my skin. i really really love arbonne you should check it out 🙂

My routine is as follows: I wash my face in the shower, put on a serum, put on moisturizer then SPF all over (face, neck, hands, and if they’re exposed then my legs, feet, shoulders, and arms too), wash my face again at night to get off all my makeup, use a heavier moisturizer (on face, neck, and hands), and an undereye treatment (gel, liquid, cream, something like that).

I am not particularly loyal to any brands but some brands or lines I generally go back to a lot are: Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit line, Alba Botanica (great undereye gel and body moisturizer), Beauty Without Cruelty, Burt’s Bees, Loreal Youth Code (love the serum in particular!), Yes to Tomatoes/Blueberries/Cucumbers/Carrots/Grapefruit/etc., and sometimes (not often) I will buy Clinique’s skincare items.
