DesBride:  We’re doing “Just Fishin'” by Trace Adkins. Him and I have a great relationship, but not like the sappy “daddy’s little girl” relationship. Growing up we spent ALOT of time fishing together too, so this just seemed perfect.

DesBride:  My dad and I don’t have a lot in common, we’re the on the opposite spectrum of just about everything. But, there were two things I enjoyed with him: roller skating and listening to The Beatles. My dad isn’t sappy either, and since Beatles listening sessions are one of the few good memories we have together, we’re dancing to Blackbird by The Beatles.

My dad and I did a swing dance to “In the Mood” by Glenn Miller Orchestra (we used to dance to it at father daughter dances when I was little). We also only dance to about 1/2 of the song and had a “cutoff” point with the DJ… it was tiring! https://youtu.be/7lqTYqED9z4

My friend danced to “Fun, Fun, Fun” by the Beach Boys with her dad and had people join in on the second verse. (She briefed her bridesmaids in advance and we led the dancing with everyone else…)

You’ve Got a Friend in Me by Randy Newman (from Toy Story!)

I know my dad will cry during our dance, so I think this is as lighthearted as I can find. It’s cute, it’s light, it’s not vaguely creepy like some father/daughter songs (I Loved Her First).

I decided to do “Somewhere Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World” by that Hawaiian guy (sorry, forgot his name lol). We arent extremely close, and I dont like sappy emotional songs. So I would rather stay away from that.

I don’t have the best relationship with my father due to nasty divorce amongst other things, so I tried to find a song that I thought he would appreciate. He wanted to dance to “Butterfly Kisses” by some Carl guy I think. NO. Not gonna happen. Plus I have a strict no country rule at my wedding.

I would LIKE us to dance to “Good Night my Angel (Lullabye)” by Billy Joel.

Cinderella

it’s pretty sob-worthy… but my dad found it and wanted to use it. I couldn’t say no!

A friend of mine is using ‘I Dont Dance’ by Lee Brice. She isn’t even seeing anyone, but it makes her think of her dad.

My dad passed a few years ago so I’m dancing with my mom to ’26 Cents by the Wilkinsons’

A faster tempo song that might work is Drive (For Daddy Gene) by Alan Jackson.
