Do you give your real name at places like Starbucks where they call your order/party by your name?
If not, what name do you give? A joke name? A name that’s easier to pronounce/spell/communicate?
I’ve always just given my real name, but I hate having to repeat it and I’m not wild about my name being called out to a whole crowd of people.
What are some good ones?

lol I never thought about that- I always give my real name, and it is SO annoying to have to spell it 5x (How hard is “Leah” to spell, really?).
Though, when I read the title of this post, I thought you wanted people to say “I’m soy-milk-latte-shot of espresso-extra cream-no whip girl” or something like that 😛

I’ve never done this, but Mr.ND does this to be funny. In the end, though, he always giggles so it’s clear that it’s not his name.
For fake, I’d go with a name that’s not as common as my name, something like Veronica or Spencer. For fun, I’d go with Consuela, like the princess 😉 Heheh.

Ella. I use it everywhere I need to give a name but won’t see the people agaon. Starbucks, bars, restaurants, etc. It’s an easier version of my real name.

I usually do give them my real name but since no one can pronounce it it doesn’t sound like my name at all. My name is Aliza, pronounced Aleeza. Everyone just calls me Alyssa.
Next time i think I’m just going to say Alexa. But then I feel weird when they call out a name that’s not mine and I come forward to claim my drink. Like everyone can tell I’m a name liar lol.

I usually give them a short common mans name because I find it funny. Something like george, fred, or eric. I don’t like using my own name because they always get it wrong.

Claire. It’s not exciting, but it was the name I used to give to people at bars. My stepdad uses the name Cletus Van Damme

@ShutterbugCait: I heard that somebody did this and the barista called “He who must not be named”, lol. Cheers to people with a sense of humor!

For some reason, my dad sometimes likes to give unusual names like Maximillion or Kermit. Only problem is, he’ll forget he used a different name and be waiting around forever, wondering why he hasn’t been called lol.

@indibee: As in princess consuela banana-hammock?
@star_dust: What is it with names like ours?! I’m an Alicia (a-lee-sha) which has about different spellings and many technically correct pronunciations. And gets confused with every similar sounding “a” name. I usually just use it and put up with having to spell it six times and then not realize when I’ve been called. But if I ever go anywhere with my husband we always put reservations and everything in his very common straight forward man name.

Lonnie, hahaha. I don’t even know why. Has nothing to do with my name and I don’t particularly wish it were my real one.

i always give my first name. DH though has a French first name adn people are always respond with “what?”, then he gives his last name as his first, since his last name is simple and easy to pronounce and could also pass as a first name.
