Hi all , I’ve been gathering ideas and doing some thinking of my spring wedding and I was wondering if anyone did/will do any specific theme in their decorations and went with it from Save-The-Date Cards to the last part of the wedding? What themes did/will you do and why? Also pics are welcome!

I don’t get the concept of themes. I mean, mine is ‘Hey, come, eat, drink and be merry. It’s taken me a while, but I’m finally GETTING MARRIED!’

early on i had asked my Fiance what he wanted on our wedding to be like (we had already chosen to have it at an apple orchard) and all he coulc come up with was, if Peter Jackson orchestrated a hobbit wedding in the shire, that was what he wanted.
Hence, the username.

I think we mostly went for the same theme as bRooklynRocks. The closest we came to a theme was using the artwork of our ketubah (Jewish wedding contract) as the basis for all our paper goods–invitations, photo sharing cards, thank you notes, explanation of the traditional Welsh love spoon that was our cake topper. Here is the ketubah:
And the paper goods based on it:

Wow, I have your EXACT theme, bRooklyn. But I’m adding a touch of “and those of you who know me know you’re lucky I’m in a dress…there’s no way I could actually come up with themed decorations”

@Hobbit: Your nickname amuses me. My son, who is 6’3″, had long referred to my 5’1″ wife as a hobbit or a halfling. When he gave us a wedding present, the card on it was addressed to “Mom and Hobbit.” Both of us burst out laughing when we saw it.

Yeah… our theme was “we’re getting married” but I guess it kind of looked like a garden tea party when all was said and done.

Our theme is christmas! I love christmas and wanted a theme that we could use all the decor after.
Our STD’s I didnt do christmas because i figured no one wants to think about x-mas in the spring and summer!

We have a loose theme of champagne and lace. A lot of things are in the color champagne and have lace.

I generally started out with a Southern Belle thing since I will be getting married in New Orleans at an extra large old Mansion. Our main thing we are working with is the colors and polka dots. I used the colors of coral and tangerine in all the paper goods and have some accents of polka dots in other things but not overkill.

Ours is “Starry Night”… my profile name is super creative, huh.
I had a designer create Save-The-Date Cards that used part of Van Gogh’s Starry Night Over the Rhone painting, which I’m using as my inspiration.

… and i didn’t really finish. Uploaded too soon.
But anyway, our decor will be tons of candles and lanterns with white flowers and cobalt blue glassware. I’m also bringing luminaries and renting paper lanterns. our reception will be along the sky pool at a resort, over looking the Pacific, at night… so not a lot of decor to do.
