Ours was $12/slice.  I know that’s completely ridiculous.  We had to use the hotel bakery and that’s just what they charge!  It was a lemon cake with a layer of lemon curd and a layer of raspberry filling with vanilla buttercream icing.

We had sheet cakes to serve and a fake cake (3 tier round, white, with white sugar flowers – very simple) to display and cut.

I will say that our cake was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS.  We had a July brunch wedding, so it was perfect.

Our venue will make us a wedding cake and slice and serve it for $4 per person.  The photo of the cake in the brochure looked nice, but I don’t know if you wanted something particular that was fancier  if they’d charge more.

I might go with sheet cake.  FI doesn’t like the really “weddingy” looking cakes (says they look like cardboard/styrofoam/plastic and doesn’t make him want to eat it) anyway, so I’m not sure we could agree on one.  Plus saving $300-$400 is a bonus.

$7/ slice (only cheaper because half of the cake is coming from a sheet cake in the back!) The main cake is 3 tiers, fondant covered,

Our cake was $3.50/slice, which is average here in Houston. 3 layers, each layer a different flavor with a different filling. Super simple decorations – just buttercream frosting with a few large cabbage roses.

Mine was just under $3.00/slice from a baker with a business out of her home.  It was 120 slices for $300.  3 layer cake, top two were chocolate with chocolate ganache filling, and the middle was orange cake with creamsicle filling.  It was fondant, but fairly simply decoarated.

Around $3 per slice I guess; it’s a very simple one tier buttercream cake. The bakery’s usual price for wedding cakes starts at $6/slice but she gave us a deal because we’re having a very small wedding.

wow i thought prices around here were expensive! i am mistaken!

the place i’m looking into with *the* best cake i have *ever* had is 3.10 per slice w/ buttercream frosting… something like 3.45 for fondant.

most others places in my area are around 2.50 per slice

My Fiance is the bakery manager for price chopper and we are getting our cake ‘at cost’.

$300 cake for 200 people so $1.50/slice! 🙂

Right around $3/slice all-in (delivery, taxes), that includes unlimited flavors, one filling and buttercream frosting. We’re doing chocolate with buttercream (FI doesn’t like filling) and then white with raspberry filling.

I got quotes between $1.50 (from this chick who seemed REALLY unreliable) and starting at $6/slice.

I got incredibly lucky because a friend of a friend used to work for a big upscale bakery but recently decided to open up her own bakery (right now just out of her home). She is amazing but trying to build up her name in the community. She usually charges $3/slice (which is a great deal in itself) but because she is such good friends with one of my mom’s best friend she is doing ours for $2/slice. We are paying $300 for a cake that serves 150. Even better is there was 15 different cakes to choose from and any filling we wanted was included in this price.

Our cake is red velvet with cream cheese filling (bottom, biggest layer), followed by lemon with vanilla filling, dark chocolate with raspberry filling and funfetti with rainbow chip frosting filling (smallest layetr, this may sound weird for a wedding cake flavor but this is my FAVORITE cake so we wanted it for our top tier, we figure the kids will like it to). Our cake is frosted in buttercream because honestly I think fondant is not nearly as tasty. She makes buttercream look BEAUTIFUL though. Our cake will also have real flowers.. This is our inspiration picture that is  designing our cake around.. the difference is ours will be 4 tiers, the silver will be navy blue instead and the red roses will be coral roses.

Ours comes out to about $2.25 a slice.  We’re having three tiers:  vanilla, red velvet and Italian creme, all with buttercream frosting in a simple, textured design.
