I make and sell cake and cupcakes in my spare time and the most popular are red velvet, carrot, and chocolate…For the rustic theme I think carrot would be good.

My theme is similar to yours, my colors are burlap, dove grey, blush and champagne. We are getting married in October and serving Italian food. However, I wanted a lighter option for our cake so we are having an almond flavored cake with fresh strawberries and bavarian cream filling, with buttercream icing. It is like a super-luxurious version of strawberry shortcake and SO AMAZING!

We are just doing a sponge cake with buttercream and raspberry jam filling.

We are serving it at the reception and people can take some home. So we figured that it is the type that the majority of people will like

@Mrs-R2B: A plan yellow cake with fruit in between the layers is also a hit such pineapple. If he doesnt like crushed pineapples try strawberries.

I’m having a brunch wedding and our cake is strawberry with a strawberry cream filling and a banana cake (which doesn’t have a filling).

I did espresso and chocolate chip for my first wedding.  We are doing red velvet for my second wedding.

Our bottom tier will be red velvet and the other two layers will be Black Raspberry Chambord Torte

This is what our cake will look like, except with blush colored flowers and a light gold ribbon. We even have this same cake stand! I think the lace appliques would be really pretty on a rustic cake.

Our flavor is called “Vanilla Decadence”… white cake with a caramel and coconut mousse filling.

Our venue comes with a wedding cake PLUS a “backup cake” in case people dont like the main cake’s flavor (since they won’t do different flavors for different tiers. Boo!) so our second cake will be Dark Chocolate Strawberry Shortcake… dark chocolate cake filled with fresh strawberries and chocolate mousse.

I originally had a “Rustic” theme, and wanted to use light teal somehow… but then I fell in love with blue orchids, and my bridesmaid’s fell in love with a beautiful deep cobalt blue dress, and so everything gravitated toward a “blue orchid” theme.. but I don’t mind! 🙂

Here are some ideas for your theme:
