Our wedding date is 9-16-16.  I really wanted 9-19 this year because that was our five year anniversary, but we decided 1. We don’t want to pay for extra costs of a saturday wedding. 2. It will be easier and less stressful to plan if we have more time, not to mention we could save more money.

So we just picked the closet date to our anniversary that we could, plus I kind of like the 9- 16- 16 date. Should be easier for him to remember

  • Wedding: December 2016

We have not booked our venue yet but our tentative date is December 10, 2016. We picked that day because I am in occupational therapy school and the longest break I get from school is Christmas, so that gives us plenty of time to go on a honeymoon and get everything settled before school starts back!

I’m going for either March 23, 24, or 26. They’re the last Thursday, Friday, and Sunday of March. I’m going for sort of odd days because I have a TON of family on both sides that we don’t really care if they’re there or not, but they’re still close enough in relation that they require an invite. So if we pick a weekday then it’s harder for them to take the time off, that way it’s ok if they can’t make it, but they can’t say we didn’t invite them.

I get it might be considered rude or whatever, but I really don’t care. I’d rather a small small wedding but our families are just to large to allow that.

I picked the month of March because it seems like the best time of year for us (Texas) from it being freezing and getting to hot and then the rainy season.

July 4th.

Originally that summer I was planning on taking summer classes the entire time so the 4th would have been my only free time to do it.. (didn’t wanna do it during fall or spring semesters either, or winter because I hate winter weather).

I also thought it’s a holiday weekend so most people wouldn’t have to take extra time off work to go and it’s not like a “family sacred” holiday the way Thanksgiving or Christmas is.. and my husband is obsessed with fireworks and I thought our anniversaries would always be cool no matter where we are (in the US anyway).. & not to mention easy to remember haha.

& usually unless you’re working in retail or something, the 4th is a holiday off work so that makes it easier for us to celebrate in the future together ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Wedding: June 2015

06-20-2015

We picked June 20 because we had an outdoor wedding and we wanted late June in the hopes of best weather possible and one of my bridesmaids was graduating the 27th.

Turns out that our wedding day, although it did rain, was about 23 degrees Celsius all day, which was perfect and the rain started an hour after the ceremony (outdoors) and finished before people started leaving the reception (Indoors) and we got an awesome running through the rain picture! The following weekend, our other option, ended up being 40 degrees Celsius and absolutely blistering hot! So it turned out to be a fabulous weekend to pick ๐Ÿ˜€

It was also the last day of spring. When we woke up the next day it was a new season and a new life together! It all worked out perfectly too!

  • Wedding: August 2016

August 6, 2016!! We wanted a summer wedding but it couldn’t be in May because my Fiance was graduating and it couldn’t be in July because he would be studying/taking the Bar exam.  June was booked at the venue we wanted so August it is!  I absolutely love my date so it all worked out ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Wedding: August 2016

August 14, 2016.

We are both August Leo babies and wanted a wedding during Leo season and in August. The reception and ceremony space we wanted only came together on a Sunday so we needed a Sunday date. It happens to be the day after his bday, but he doesn’t seem to mind it at all. and I think of the other two available Sundays that still qualified as Leo season, there are fairs or festivals going on that would cause headaches for us and the guests.

10/25/15.  I’m in Florida so picked fall to hope to avoid the heat. We wanted to avoid Nov/Dec holidays. The venue only had the 24 or 31 of October open so that made it easy ๐Ÿ™‚ love Halloween just not for my wedding,

October 21, 2017 – (tentative until we book venue)

We figured out our date by ruling out seasons.

We live in New England and most of our guests will have between 1 – 3 hour commute.  We ruled out winter because of the unpredictable snow storms  we get and we didn’t want to risk our guests driving through a storm.  We ruled out summer because we both don’t really like the heat.  I don’t really like spring so we eliminated that.  We both love fall and an outdoor wedding would be beautiful in the fall time (changing leaves!).  Originally we picked a date in November but I did research on historical temperatures, snow fall, and foliage patterns (when the leaves are at their peak) and thought that November would be too risky for snow and potential cold weather.

So we moved it up to October and wanted a Saturday date.  We ruled out one date because it fell on my niece’s bday.  From the remaining Saturday’s in October 2017, we liked the 21st the best.   It won’t be official though until we secure the venue.

2-16-2016

It’s a Tuesday! We are having a planned elopment in Mexico and we planned our trip around my fiance’s job, and that date is a couple days after we arrive. It’s REALLY close to Valentine’s day which is not my favorite (and I’m worried about “valentine’s weekend” falling on our anniversary and ruining an anniversary dinner or something) but my fiance told me to build a bridge and get over it, so I shall ๐Ÿ™‚

Our venue only had two summer Saturdays left available. I opened up my period tracker app and saw I’d be on my period one of those days… so we chose the other. So romantic! hahaha

If anyone asks IRL I say it’s because of my mom’s birthday.
