Our theme is Garden Glam. We are getting married in a garden infront of an aqua pond and the reception will be under a tent. Our colors are lavender, plum, and ivory with accents of gold! We will be using lots of candles with bits of bling to give the the glam factor.

I’d recommend waiting until you pick your reception venue before deciding on your theme. I know originally I wanted to do a mint green colour theme but once we chose our venue with stone walls and wood beams I felt that mint didn’t really suit the venue. The venue could definitely influence the style and theme you decide to go with. Now I’m doing completely opposite of what I thought and going with black and silver for our colours and keeping everything very and simple as the venue is so beautiful on it’s own and I didn’t want to take away from that

bestyblue: I know! It’s so hard to pick when you like a million different styles! lol Love the blush and gold idea though! That would be beautiful for both spring and summer. Do you know if you want your wedding to be more formal or informal? That will have an effect on what theme and decor you want too.

No big theme, although had some burlap and lace in some of the decor items. I thought it went well with my dress, as it as lace. It was a Fall wedding, and I kept fall colors – as I love them. We had a darker blue (not navy), red, orange and some hints of yellow. I thought it all looked great – especially against the Fall leaves since we did everything (except the reception) outside.

We are having a Cinderella theme and our colors are light blue and silver. We both love Disney and Cinderella is my favorite princess 🙂

Wow!! So exciting!! Congrats on being an engaged bee!!
Mine is this color palette. Although my wedding is in August, i chose something different than typical autumn colors. I thought I’d go there but the colors just didn’t pop out as how i wanted them to.
This is my collage of what i want for my wedding. Just my first rough draft. My cake has to change though. I really don’t have a theme by the way. Never really thought of one. Our venue is a beautiful clubhouse 💙

No specific theme, but I love Blush, yet didn’t want it to look too girly, so I added black to the mix. So mostly black, white, blush and gold. Similar to this…

Congrats and welcome to the Bee! You will find probably too many good ideas here 🙂
Our wedding colors were red, black, white, polks dot and silver tone metals. The theme was retro/vintage, and we played a lot of big band, Bebop, swing and swing revival music. Our first dance was “Fly Me to the Moon” by Frank Sinatra.
We really did stick to our theme and if I found somethng I likes but it did not or could not work with our theme, the idea was discarded. I just plan better that way. Many people don’t even have a theme and that works perfect for them.
If I had to choose another color scheme, I would probably do black and jewel tones (royal purple, red, teal, burnt orange, emerald green, and put each bridal party memeber in a dfferent accent color.
Don’t feel like you have to have your colors match the season of your wedding either. We got married on Summer Solstice and just picked colors we loved. No one is going to think that your colors are too bold for a spring wedding or to pastel for a summer one.
Here is a collage of our wedding!

We didn’t really have a set theme in mind when we started planing but I guess it’s turned out to be a outdoorsy/woodsy theme. Our colors are Grey & Green with pops of Orange.

I hope I’m not too late for the theme party! I looove all your ideas and feel so welcome here. Thanks everyone for being so warm : o )
I started working on a mood board this week, I will just keep pasting things on it and see what I come up with after a few days. Who said wedding planning is easy? Lol, every store I enter, the first aisle I head for is the one that has the wedding related items. I think I’m turning into a bridezilla :S
They say it gets easier mainly after you find THE DRESS, the dress is supposed to help determine the style of your wedding. I don’t see how this is true but we’ll see. I have my first dress appointment in 2 weeks, fingers crossed it won’t be so hard to find the one.

bestyblue: welcome! Picking a theme was hard for me too, until I just decided to go with what I love and what my favorite thigns are. My favorite color is blue and I LOVE period pieces, romance and royal vintage. So I decided on Victorian Vintage theme and a color palet of Navy Blue, Dusty Gray, Blush, and some Gold. Kinda like the below:
