I never planned on having a theme for our wedding, but as I was putting ideas together I realized that there was in fact a theme. Our theme is “Lovebirds.” So far I have our save the dates and invites pick out which have a birdcage theme, our wedding website has a bird theme, I bought some wood bird & birdcage cut outs and sprayed them with chalkboard paint to write things like, “Cards,” “Mr. & Mrs.” “Candy Bar,” etc. Our card holder is a bird cage and our escort cards are bird cuts outs hanging from mini clothes pins on a large chicken wire frame. Our centerpieces will just be mason jars w/ flowers and candles. I’m thinking of getting mini birdcages for the children to color as well.
Anyways, what is your theme and what have you incorporated into that theme? 🙂

We are doing a light theme of 1920’s/Boardwalk Empire. We are incorporating wine bottles, and beer barrels in centerpieces and card holder. Our cake will be an Art Deco design, and our venue looks very similar to a place they always go on BE. 🙂

We have a loose fall theme. Our invitations are brown, cream and red, with a leaf motif, we will have white pumpkins and leaves on the tables, are using fall colours for bridesmaid dresses, napkins on the table, etc, and are giving homemade jam as our favors. We are also doing non-theme elements such as a mail-box card-box and ski lift-ticket escort cards (because we love skiing).

It’s not really a theme but we’re getting married on the beach so it pretty much directed our decorating. Our color scheme is turquoise and lime. We’re doing orange roses so they pop. We did kind of theme the invitations and centerpieces by using starfish on them but I don’t plan to “theme” anything else.

We’re having a travel theme. I’m using maps in the invites, confetti, corsages etc.

@melitabonita: that sounds like it will turn out really cool!
@skipanther: your username kinda gives it away lol do you guys go skiing a lot?
@Little_Nut88: I always thought fall colors were so pretty together! Homemade jam sounds awesome!
@beachbride1216: if the closest beach wasn’t 11 hours away, we would totally be getting married there. Love beach themes and colors, sofun!
@Soon2BD-CBee: that is so cool! Do you guys travel a lot? the map confetti is such a good idea!

@MrsN14: We ski between 40-50 times per year, which in the east is alot. My Fiance calls me his ski panther (unlike the familiar ski bunny).

“South Florida Trailor Park Chic” seems to about cover it.
No, I’m not kidding.

My theme is vintage elegance meets fall. Not rustic fall though, there will be white pumpkins and gourds as centerpieces and lots of lace. My colors are charcoal, orange, and ivory.

We are having a loose Happily Ever After/Dreams Come True theme. We got engaged in Disney so this theme somehow followed us into our wedding lol
Each table number will also have a movie/book/famous couple that are thought to be great love stories, I have a few signs (Happily Ever After Starts Here, & They Lived Happily Ever After sign for the thank yous), then I have some banners to hang on our balcony, the fireplace in the room. The flowers are going to have this enchanted garden type feel…that’s really as far as it goes though. No Mickeys or Minnies will be in the room.
Honestly, having a theme made the whole thing come together much easier!
