I am going with navy blue and white stripes, but not nautical in any way.  My table runners are going to be striped along with my stationary. All of our flowers will be hydrangeas. I just want it to be classic and romantic!

Spring time? Really, it’s nothing. I don’t even want to have a specific color but because my shoes are red and I wanted red roses in my bouquet, I guess I’m going with red because my sisters insist that I have a color.

My theme is kind of enchanted forest/fairy tale. Not Disney fairy tale but more like brothers Grimm. I have a serious love of fairies and the woods so it went from there. There are going to be lots of handmade/vintage touches as well. It’s going to be on my families farm so I wanted it to feel very ‘homegrown’.

Oh, I never answered how we came up with it. I started a Pinterest board about six months before we got engaged (since we were talking about getting married and ring shopping) and was pinning things that I liked. After we got engaged and started planning, I started going through it and noticed that I had a cohesive look with some outliers. I deleted those, and then when we chose our venues, deleted anything that wouldn’t work with the venues. 🙂

I think my theme was “wedding.” I didn’t even really have colors – my invitations and flowers did end up being the same colors though, pale pink and pale green and off-white.

@jenilynevette:  I more had a collage of things I really liked & wanted to add to my wedding.  I didn’t even know it had a name, until I joined the bee and realized it was “rustic”.

Same here!  Apparently I’m doing a rustic wedding, but I’m just doing what I’ve always loved.   I’ve always used mason jars as vases, I LOVE wildflowers and have access to an enormous flower garden, we always play lawn games like cornhole and monkey nuts with friends, and we’re just very casual outdoorsy people…. so we are incorporating a lot of suddenly popular trends.  Oh well, it’ll be very us, much more so than an elegant or formal wedding would be.

Art deco… our venue is an art deco theater, so that made it pretty easy.

Laid-back family vacation, I guess, will be our theme. I wanted a beach wedding, barefoot and relaxed. We are on a budget so we opted for Tybee, where there’s no fee for a small wedding onteh beach, as long as you don’t erect a structure. We opted to not rent chairs and just lay our beach blankets for our guests. We will have open coolers of beer and water for consumption during the ceremony. My aunt is marrying us; my sons are walking me down the aisle. It’s going to be very low-key, very relaxed, very happy-go-lucky and a totally relaxing weekend for everyone coming.

I did end up with a starfish ..thing..inadverntently. I received a Tiffany infinity bracelet from my Fiance for Christmas and Tiffany blue is also a very popular beach Bridesmaid or Best Man dress color. So, I’m wearing my Tiffany bracelet, a (replica..$8 thank you ebay) Tiffany starfish necklace, had a custom bracelet made on Etsy with a tiny starfish and stamp of the letter “W” (my new last name starts with it) on a charm next to it and white finger starfish on our invites. The Tiffany/starfish things just kinda…happened.

Ours was just “Southern” themed I suppose. We married in Tennessee, so we had signature Jack Daniels whiskey drinks, BBQ, country music and an outdoor ceremony at a park that was the old town square. I did a recap a long time ago, but my fav part was just how relaxed and family oriented it was. Our colors were purple ( for me, LSU fan) and orange ( Darling Husband is a Vols fan), and the girls carried lavendar stock with burlap and orange ribbon. I loved how it came together and I LOVED our cake lol.

Ours is cozy winter elegance. Think candles, upscale comfort food, hues of silver, grey, fig, and cream with pinecone accents and branch centerpieces. We’re getting married in February at a historic inn (built in the 1830’s) so there’s tons of high ceilings, wood, and rich fabrics. We didn’t want it to be stuffy, though, so we’ll be serving modern takes on comfor food, and have a cocktail hour before the ceremony, encouraging people to mingle and bring their drinks in with them.

Our colors are going to be deep purple, silver, and black, and I guess the ‘theme’ if any would be considered vintage, since I love tea-length dresses and retro looks. 🙂

Van Gogh’s Starry Night!!!! I have always loved the color combination of Aqua/Teal and Navy. Plus, I LOVE stars. It all just kind of came together that way! So we’re basing the reception off of the painting. (The ceremony has a different theme, Sunset, because the sunset happens before night and we’re having our ceremony close to sunset.)

The main colors are navy, golds/silvers, indigo, and teal. The centerpieces are wine bottles with candles in them, and tall branch centerpieces on some tables that mimic the tree in the painting. We’ll have a “moon” photobooth, and lots of twinkly lights and sparkle everywhere.
